While earning his law degree he also spent two years working for an uptown Charlotte law firm, where he focused on construction deficiency, civil litigation, commercial real estate, as well as mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to law school, Mr. Powell earned his bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Clemson University. An undergraduate construction law class, along with Mr. Powell's employment with a heavy civil construction company, sparked his interest in attending law school.
Following his time at Clemson, Mr. Powell served as a Judicial Aide for United States Senator Lindsey Graham, and later interned at a law firm where he dealt specifically with toxic waste litigation.
In his free time, Mr. Powell enjoys playing golf, attending sporting events, and cheering for the Clemson Tigers.
