Prior to meeting Kathleen, I was represented by three attorneys with lackluster results in a 5 year, high conflict custody case. I wish I would have hired Kathleen from the start. Kathleen started off the relationship by being kind and empathetic, and assured me she would fight for me and my children. In the end, I had to hash things out alone with my ex, because she basically gave up on getting him to agree to terms. I had to constantly call, text, and email to receive any ki...nd of response, and she was often rude and unhelpful. I felt mislead by her, and she seemed less concerned about helping me than she did about getting her fee. Once it was paid, I was no longer a priority. I would not advise anyone to hire Kathleen to represent them during a divorce or custody case.

Firstly, I have professionally worked with many family law attorneys and had the opportunity to see some great ones and some "not so great" ones. However, I never worked professionally with Kathleen, but was representing myself in a nasty custody battle. I was fighting for my daughters and was strug...gling in court, mainly because I didn't lie and try to make my ex look bad. You would think that taking the high road would work....LOL. Kathleen just happened to be in court and witnessed my integrity getting destroyed by the other party. I became visibly upset and couldn't control my emotions and that is when Kathleen approached me and told me to relax, stay calm and she walked me out of court and talked me off the ledge. Kathleen told me to call her the next day, which I did. She spend a good amount of time telling me exactly what I needed to hear. She was so "to the point" and unlike other attorneys I had spoken to who could NEVER just give me a STRAIGHT answer, Kathleen didn't give me a 100 different possible outcomes or options. She told me what my rights were and what to do and what not to do...AND THAT WAS IT. I took her advice and went back to the other party and they immediately agreed to what I had put in writing! I called Kathleen, who was so happy for me. I did end up hiring her to review the agreement and have the judge sign off on it. I have since referred one person, who retained Kathleen and can't stop thanking me for the referral, as he did not have a good experience with his first attorney.
