I am a graduate of Georgetown University Law School and focus on federal and state criminal defense and asset forfeiture matters. I also represent licensed professionals facing disciplinary actions by their licensing boards, as well as public officials facing government ethics investigations and other political inquiries.
At Georgetown Law, I was selected to join Georgetown’s Moot Court team and won Best Brief in a regional competition. Before going to Georgetown Law, I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honors society and graduated in the top 3% of my class.
I have developed substantial experience in complex litigation. For example, after a three week federal criminal jury trial in which their client was charged with embezzlement, false statements and tax evasion, Joe Cheshire and I litigated numerous post-trial motions and won a new trial for our client. In another case, I obtained the release of over $2 million of seized client assets in a federal asset forfeiture matter related to a long-running federal bribery prosecution. My state court work has included representing people charged with tax evasion cases, drug offenses and murder.
I have represented two members of the North Carolina House of Representatives; a former gubernatorial candidate; a Superior Court Judge; the chairman of a county school board; and numerous bankers, doctors, lawyers, accountants and real estate agents.
If you are facing a governmental investigation or criminal charges, please feel free to call me for a free consultation today.

Fiercely smart. Deeply committed to his clients' welfare, and to mastering the facts of his cases and the law. I've watched Elliot Abrams litigate and win against prosecutors twice his age. I strongly endorse Elliot Abrams as a criminal defense lawyer in state and federal court.
