Knowledgeable, thorough and professional
Mr. Tanner represented me during my divorce. I worked closely with him and his team to develop a fair and very thorough separation agreement. He always answered any questions I had and replied in a clear, concise and timely manner. He was patient when walking me through the entire difficult process. I trusted him and his expertise implicitly and would highly recommend him to anyone.

Great Attorney for current and former Military Members and Civilians alike
As a Reserve Service Member on Active Duty, upon returning from my last military deployment, it was to an empty house. I came to know my kids were taken to a different residence. I hadn’t realized my marriage was this distressed and unsalvageable. Hence, my search began for representation by a Family/Divorce Firm. I met with many different attorneys in the Triangle area before finding Mr. Tanner. He was actually referred by a lawyer from another firm, knowing him to be a subject matter expert with representing Military Members and divorce. I knew upon my first meeting with Gene “Brent” Tanner that I was meeting with the best. His professionalism and knowledge of Family Law and Military aspects were clear. In short, the mediation to establish 50/50 custody worked well to my favor as it could be. When my ex-wife remarried, 6 months after the divorce, and moved out of town, we went to court. Again, his knowledge of the law and court procedures were proven and I was granted primary custody of my children. In general, it’s unusual for the Father to get primary custody. I’m very pleased with Brent and his team. I have recommended him to Military colleges and Civilian fiends. I usually don’t write reviews for anything but, felt his quality of counsel is deserving of my first review.

Phenomenal representation
If you genuinely fear for your children’s safety, and you feel like the deck is stacked against you when it comes to your future involvement in the lives of your children; Mr. Tanner is equipped with the experience and expertise to do legal combat on your behalf. He is a legitimate heavyweight in family law. He can level the field for you. As a subject matter expert, Mr. Tanner has a clear grasp on all aspects of how military service impacts family law. He immediately began to aggressively defend me at a critical junction in my case. It is impressive and humbling to work with people at the top of their field, and that was my experience when working with Mr. Tanner. I had his mobile number and he was very responsive. Because, of the interest and personal attention this man and his Paralegal, Mrs. Caling took in my case, my child now safely lives with me against great odds, and I can make most of the decisions necessary to keep her safe . He listens more than he speaks and presented me with options that I previously did not know were available. He was also able to preserve my military pension and shut down the opposing party’s alimony claim as a bonus win. You get what you pay for. He is a value buy at his current rate. If you have a case that doesn’t fit nicely into a templated pre-made order and could potentially go to trial, don't blow your opportunity. If your kids are in a dangerous situation or a bad environment, you can't put a price on that. It's worth more than everything you've got.

Highly Recommended!
I hired Mr. Tanner to represent me in a series of civil actions against my former spouse. He was recommended to me as being well-versed in the law and as an excellent legal counselor. Mr. Tanner proved to be both. He is excellent about communicating with his clients, and it was usually within 24 hours (or less) that I would get a response from him or his paralegal, Felicity "Fizzy" Little. He's great about working to establish reasonable goals and tailoring a legal strategy to meet them. He's honest and forthcoming with his recommendations, which is greatly appreciated. In court, he's calm, confident and articulate. Having sat in on a hearing, I was extremely impressed with the legal research he had done and allowing us to present a strong, compelling legal argument for our case. In short, he makes for an extremely charismatic and effective litigator. I couldn't have asked for a better strategy, and ultimately, a better outcome than the one achieved in this case. Thank you, Mr. Tanner, for being the epitomizing zealous legal representation and getting me the outcome I'd hoped for from the start. On a side note, Mr. Tanner has one of the finest paralegals I have ever encountered. Fizzy is more effective as a paralegal than many attorneys. She harbors an intense devotion to her clients and works tirelessley on their behalf. Most of all, she get results, even in the most difficult of situations and with the most difficult to work with opposing counsels. I can't speak highly enough of Fizzy and was damn fortunate she was on my side for this case!

Horrible Parent Coordinator
Brent Tanner is a terrible parent coordinator! I state these facts from personal experience. I would stay clear of any involvement with Brent Tanner. He is very unprofessional and disrespectful. If I could sue a PC I would definitely go after him for malpractice and negligence for what he put my family and most of all my daughter through. There isn’t a decent parent who would put their kids through what Brent Tanner put my daughter through. He got my daughter involved in unnecessary immature drama over a silly Apple Watch and phone. All because her mother wanted control at my house. He didn’t have a legitimate excuse for his directive. Brent ran behind my back like the coward he is and had a zoom call with my daughter, without my consent, while at her mothers house, knowing she would be influenced by her mom. Within two months after Brent got my daughter involved she had to quadruple her dose of Prozac. I have the medication timetable to prove it. He put my daughters mental health at risk. When I brought this to his attention he ignored it and keep pressing with his ridiculous directives. He allowed my 10 year old daughter to make her own decision regarding the Apple Watch and phone at my house against my rules that had already been in place for nine months, during which time there were no issues at all. This caused extensive drama between my daughter and I which eventually turned my daughter against me. Brent taught my daughter that she didn’t have to follow rules at my house anymore. Only an unqualified parent would do such a thing. My daughter stopped bringing the watch to my house completely for eight months. During this time Brent filed a complaint with the court trying to hold me in contempt of court for not allowing my daughter to use the watch at my house that she no longer brought to my house. Makes zero sense! Brent absolutely without a doubt lied on the stand under oath. As a result, I eventually lost temporary custody of my daughter for five months over an Apple Watch. I swear you can’t make this stuff up. I’ve been a single dad for 10 years and honestly lost custody of my daughter over an Apple Watch. Brent Tanner told me to my face the first time I met him, that “if he were in my shoes he would probably be in jail” for all the boundaries that my daughters stepdad had crossed with her over the years. He can’t deny it because I have it recorded. Brent stood on the stand under oath and defended the stepdad. He can’t be trusted! When I needed Brent Tanner for a legitimate issue, he ignored me. My ex wife violated the custody track out order. I sent Brent an email regarding this issue. Brent ignored the email, never responded , but charged me $25 to read it. I would like to see Brent’s firm try to justify this review. I have all the facts on paper to prove everything in this review is the truth.
