If you value your assets avoid at all cost

I was in a high asset divorce where I, was the plaintiff. Mr. Tanner gave me very poor advice to have the defense make their argument first. I didn't understand but went with it. By doing so I was put totally on the defense, loosing all initiative and not being able to layout my complaint at all. Dur...ing the course of the trial he didn't submit a single objection and I felt totally alone defending myself without much representation or advocacy. Additionally, the little cross examination he conducted seemed very unprepared even though I provided a considerable amount of detailed evidence supporting my position nearly a year in advance. In the end I lost nearly 80% of my assets and was strapped with significant alimony in addition to his extremely high fee. For high priced lawyer he puts out a very, very poor product/effort. I do not recommend Mr. Tanner

Diligent Attorney

Hired him for custody and equitable distribution case. Smart and effective in court and was wisely advised during the process. Would highly recommend.

Knowledgeable, thorough and professional

Mr. Tanner represented me during my divorce. I worked closely with him and his team to develop a fair and very thorough separation agreement. He always answered any questions I had and replied in a clear, concise and timely manner. He was patient when walking me through the entire difficult process.... I trusted him and his expertise implicitly and would highly recommend him to anyone.

Great Attorney for current and former Military Members and Civilians alike

As a Reserve Service Member on Active Duty, upon returning from my last military deployment, it was to an empty house. I came to know my kids were taken to a different residence. I hadn’t realized my marriage was this distressed and unsalvageable. Hence, my search began for representation by a Fam...ily/Divorce Firm. I met with many different attorneys in the Triangle area before finding Mr. Tanner. He was actually referred by a lawyer from another firm, knowing him to be a subject matter expert with representing Military Members and divorce. I knew upon my first meeting with Gene “Brent” Tanner that I was meeting with the best. His professionalism and knowledge of Family Law and Military aspects were clear. In short, the mediation to establish 50/50 custody worked well to my favor as it could be. When my ex-wife remarried, 6 months after the divorce, and moved out of town, we went to court. Again, his knowledge of the law and court procedures were proven and I was granted primary custody of my children. In general, it’s unusual for the Father to get primary custody. I’m very pleased with Brent and his team. I have recommended him to Military colleges and Civilian fiends. I usually don’t write reviews for anything but, felt his quality of counsel is deserving of my first review.

Highly Recommended!

I hired Mr. Tanner to represent me in a series of civil actions against my former spouse. He was recommended to me as being well-versed in the law and as an excellent legal counselor. Mr. Tanner proved to be both. He is excellent about communicating with his clients, and it was usually within 24 h...ours (or less) that I would get a response from him or his paralegal, Felicity "Fizzy" Little. He's great about working to establish reasonable goals and tailoring a legal strategy to meet them. He's honest and forthcoming with his recommendations, which is greatly appreciated. In court, he's calm, confident and articulate. Having sat in on a hearing, I was extremely impressed with the legal research he had done and allowing us to present a strong, compelling legal argument for our case. In short, he makes for an extremely charismatic and effective litigator. I couldn't have asked for a better strategy, and ultimately, a better outcome than the one achieved in this case. Thank you, Mr. Tanner, for being the epitomizing zealous legal representation and getting me the outcome I'd hoped for from the start. On a side note, Mr. Tanner has one of the finest paralegals I have ever encountered. Fizzy is more effective as a paralegal than many attorneys. She harbors an intense devotion to her clients and works tirelessley on their behalf. Most of all, she get results, even in the most difficult of situations and with the most difficult to work with opposing counsels. I can't speak highly enough of Fizzy and was damn fortunate she was on my side for this case!
