Jennifer L. Bills has been litigating and advocating on behalf of employees and individuals for nearly 20 years and joined The Noble Law employment law firm in 2017. She is a frequent teacher, lecturer, and skilled investigator. She was also recognized as a Rising Star while practicing in Boston, MA. As an employment attorney, Jennifer concentrates her practice on workplace investigations and trainings for managers and employees on best employment practices and compliance issues.
Jennifer grew up in Greensboro and left the South to attend Haverford College and Northeastern University School of Law. Upon graduation, she clerked for U.S. District Court Judge Gene Carter in Portland, Maine. Jennifer worked for several nonprofit organizations and two small Boston law firms practicing civil rights and employment law before coming home to North Carolina in 2008.
As a Senior Attorney at Disability Rights NC, she worked for nine years to protect the rights of people with disabilities under the ADA. Jennifer teaches Disability Law as an Adjunct Professor of Law at UNC-Chapel Hill. She frequently lectures and teaches CLE courses on Employment Law topics including: ADA, FLMA, Sexual Harassment, Intersectional Discrimination, and Ethical Issues in Representing Clients with Disabilities.
She has also served her community, including on the Carrboro Elementary School Improvement Team and on non-profit boards and volunteer committees advocating for racial equity. Jennifer enjoys hiking, frequenting the local farmers’ markets, and besting her children at chess and monopoly. She lives with her two daughters, who amaze her every day. When she grows up, Jenn’s daughter wants to “be myself and fight for justice.”
