Christine A. Rodriguez began practicing right out of law school as an Assistant District Attorney with the New York County District Attorney’s Office. As an ADA, Ms. Rodriguez prosecuted a variety of street crimes and other cases including, robberies, assaults, drug offenses, domestic violence and white collar crime. Ms. Rodriguez initiated and conducted dozens of long-term criminal investigations leading to the prosecution of consumer fraud, embezzlement, forgery, identity theft and fraudulent applications for financial assistance stemming from the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center.
Ms. Rodriguez left the District Attorney’s Office to go into private practice with an insurance defense firm in New York City. As a private practitioner Ms. Rodriguez defended a variety of general liability claims, which included representing contractors in complex construction cases and various companies, both small and large, in premises liability claims. Ms. Rodriguez was also responsible for defending all employment litigation claims for the firm’s clients. Her work as a private practitioner has encompassed all phases of litigation, including all phases of discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, trial, mediations, settlement negotiations and appeals.
Ms. Rodriguez has over 20 years of legal experience. Right before law school, Ms. Rodriguez worked in the compliance department of a major broker/dealer in Manhattan. While still in law school, Ms. Rodriguez worked at the New York County District Attorney’s Office as a paralegal, was a litigation intern for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, a summer associate at the law firm of Tenzer Greenblatt, now part of Blank Rome, and a member of the Criminal Defense Clinic at Fordham Law School, where she defended clients with cases pending in Manhattan Criminal Court and the Southern District of New York.
After practicing successfully, first as a prosecutor and then a civil litigator, for a number of years, in February 2007, Ms. Rodriguez started her own successful litigation law firm in New York City. In June 2011, Ms. Rodriguez expanded her practice and joined with two partners to form Ahmad Naqvi Rodriguez LLP (ANR). In May 2014, Ms. Rodriguez split from that partnership in order to expand her practice again, announcing the opening of her law firm at its new location in midtown Manhattan as the Law Office of Christine A. Rodriguez. Ms. Rodriguez remains Of Counsel to ANR. Ms. Rodriguez is also Of Counsel to Balestriere Fariello, a litigation firm that serves businesses, institutions, and individuals involved in disputes around the world.
In her own practice, Ms. Rodriguez has successfully represented individuals and small businesses in all manner of employment discrimination, civil rights, criminal defense, civil litigation and commercial litigation matters. Ms. Rodriguez also advises small businesses on all aspects of legal matters from contract to employee issues.
