Hire David before someone else does

David Bice has been my attorney since 2013 when he walked me through a divorce and protected my rights as a father. In that time he earned every penny he was paid, and was reasonable with his charges. To quite honest, he tried to return some of the money I had paid him, and I requested he keep it. ... David Bice is a man you want on your side, as an attorney and as a friend. Lately, he defended my rights as a father again and did an outstanding job. I will keep David Bice as my attorney for the future, and would recommend anyone do the same (get him before someone else does). I know the hours he keeps in his office, and I do not know of anyone who works as hard for his clients as does he. My suggestion to future clients is to keep open communication with David as he is defending your rights, and the outcome will be favorable. Listen to his counsel; and above all, make a friend out of him and he will defend you too. Thank you David, for all you have done for my family, I owe you a debt of gratitude. Keep up the good work!

Truly "Checked Out"

Bice could be an outstanding lawyer. When you actually get his attention, he is great. He represented me against my ex-wife who filed a frivolous lawsuit. Without exaggeration, I had to manage the case. I had to remind him five or six times of the basic facts, even though it was a simple case. ... He just wasn't paying attention. When I hinted at filing a grievance with the State Bar, he snapped into action and was absolutely OUTSTANDING from then on. But prior to that, it was over a year of him seeming like he just had no idea what my case was about. So he CAN do it, he just chooses not to. And the worst of it was getting outrageous bills for nothing. I got a $200 bill one month and asked him what it was for, and he said he mailed a letter asking for a document. I asked for the letter, and it was one sentence. He charged me an hour to type one sentence, and put a stamp on an envelope. Now that's just wrong, it could not have taken him more than 2 minutes. He also forgot to file for an extension, which meant the day before I was supposed to be in court, I was in the hospital calling the court myself to arrange the extension, because Bice was nowhere to be found. His response was, "well, there was not harm, so no liability for me." But had I not checked on it myself, and solved the problem myself, my case would have been lost because he was off and even his secretary had no idea what he was doing or why he was't there, or if he'd be back in time to solve the problem. Was he out fishing? I never found out. He seems to think that his time is worth way more than what he agrees is his billable rate, so he makes everything take five times as long, and then puts in a half-effort. So do the math, you're really paying him ten times more than what he agreed to.

Very poor attention to my case, very little work, very big bill

I hired Mr. Bice to work on an alimony filing. It was a simple document, but it was filed late, which caused no end of trouble. When I got my bill, I was surprised to discover that there were charges for consultations with me that never occurred, or a one hour charge to photocopy a one page documen...t and put it in the mail. I considered suing him, but it would cost more to hire another attorney to review the work and take him to court. Sadly, there is no practical way for a client to win when over-billing is under about $10K.

Good results with David Bice

David Bice did an excellent job representing me in a very complex case involving an investment controversy. He is very level headed and helped me realize through his calm demeanor that we just had to work through the variety of details and be patient. I felt that his fees were reasonable for the ag...gravation, time and energy that he expended on my behalf. The end result was favorable.

A Great Attorney !

If you are looking for legal representation, David Bice should be at the top of your list! Mr. Bice served as counsel for a custody hearing and did an outstanding job. I found him to be knowledgeable of the law and his preparation was remarkable. I was very impressed with his attention to detail incl...uding taking the time to research the judge and opposing counsel. His court room savvy is a tribute to his confidence which is unmatched by anyone in Lynchburg or the surrounding area. His office is well managed and though he has many clients, I was given the confidence as to the importance of my case. Mr. Bice was very honest when explaining legal options and always allowed me to make the decisions as to the direction of my case while keeping me informed. He makes every effort to keep your case affordable and never advises you in an attempt to make more money. I have recommended him to friends and family who have also been very satisfied. If I was again ever in a situation requiring legal counsel, I wouldn’t hesitate to call him. Be careful of other reviewers and their negative comments. It has always been my experience that those who comment negatively on an attorney and his practices/performance are usually the clients that want the outcome to be one of perfection and one hundred percent in their favor. I have found there is a direct correlation between the verdict and the satisfaction of the client with the lawyer and his services. It is rare that any client ever gets everything they want, especially in an unpredictable place such as a courtroom. It is the job of an attorney to represent your interests while giving you sound legal advice to the best of his abilities. I feel Mr. Bice does just this! Again, I recommend his services without hesitation.
