Jordan Davies is our hero. Our daughter was charged for a speeding violation, a class 1 misdemeanor and up to 1 year in jail. My husband and I were beside ourselves, as our daughter has never violated the law before. But there is no excuse for speeding...speeding is speeding. I flew out to Virginia... to visit our daughter for Thanksgiving break. She attends school in Lynchburg, and we live in New Mexico. When it was time for me to fly home, we left each other in Charlottesville, and our daughter cried all the way back to Lynchburg; she did not see that the speed limit had changed on the highway. As we said, there is no excuse for speeding. We found Mr. Davies to handle our daughter's case. He asked for her grades at the university, and also asked for an odometer check on her vehicle. Her 2014 VW Jetta was tested, and it was not registering speed (mph) correctly, so we had the test document signed by a notary. Our daughter plead guilty to speeding and the judge blessed us by eliminating the class 1 misdemeanor and jail time. He did order her to complete 25 hours of community service and show proof of a clean driving record in 6 months.
