This review is from a person who hired this attorney.

Do not hire this person

I paid this woman all her money upfront by certified check. I had to file a chapter 13 bankruptcy because after Covid I couldn’t work. Due to excruciating pain due to needing a hip replacement. I barely could walk. However, I had to do something about the house I bought in 2007 that I had put $30,...000 cash down on, I was losing it due to not being able to work and being ill. She was the worst attorney I ever met. She kept having me come to her office, knowing that it was difficult for me to walk up the steps to get into the building. She had no empathy at all. But the worst thing that she did is that I told her because of the medical bills I had that I wanted to put it on the chapter 13 that’s what it is for bills that you cannot pay. She asked me. Why did I want to do that? I had to go round and round with her. Explain it because I’m sick. I need an operation. . Explain it because I’m sick. I need an operation and I’m being my house is being foreclosed on. I did not want to be put out in the street to become homeless immediately. This woman DID NOT PUT MY MEDICAL BILLS ON MY BANKRUPTCY! Not only that there was quite a few other bills that I wanted her to put on my chapter 13 but she didn’t. Therefore, I still owe over $4000 in medical bills which I had to pay. I could go on and on, but I won’t just know she kept calling me to come to her office in HAMPTON THAT HAD THE OUTSIDE STEPS. When I first met her, I met her in Newport News where I live and that office had NO STEPS; this is the office that I met her at and paid her at after that first meeting she started wanting me to drive all the way to Hampton and go up those steps. She in enjoyed seeing me being in pain and crying each time I had to endure that pain. I actually told her at my second meeting that I changed my mind and I did not want to hire her and would like to get my money back. She had her Paralegal come back back-and-forth and they kept pressuring me and did not let me out of the deal. Everyone in the office was horrible with the exception of the receptionist. I READ HER BAD REVIEWS BUT HIRED HER ANYWAY BECAUSE SHE WAS JUST A LITTLE CHEAPER THAN THE OTHER ATTORNEY I INTERVIEWED. LIKE I SAID I WAS IN EXCRUCIATING PAIN AND I COULD NOT HANDLE TRYING TO INTERVIEW ANOTHER ATTORNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
