I had been pulled over and the police officer stated I was going 86 mph in a 70 mph zone on I-95. After the last ticket in Virginia I made a habit of setting cruise control and was shocked at the alleged speed. I am from out of state and was hoping for a reduction in charges. In VA, going over 80 is ...a misdemeanor, the same as a DUI! Suddenly, I had a lot more to worry about than 6 points and a huge ticket plus increase in insurance.
