Great Experience, Sound Advice, and Delivers!

I am an NC resident who received a speeding ticket over the Memorial Day Weekend in Dinwiddie County. At the speed I was pulled, NC would have suspended my license for a minimum of 30 days. David walked me through the process, advised me on things like Driver Improvement Courses, etc. He responded to my emails directly and my phone calls, answering all of my questions. His cost was very reasonable and his client interface was excellent. David felt confident he could ask for a dismissal with only court cost to be paid. I was a bit skeptical at the speed I was going but he delivered! No insurance cost increase, etc. and of course no suspension. I would highly recommend David to anyone needing defense in the surrounding Richmond Area.

Extremely impressed

I am in the military and a reckless driving in VA is very serious. This could have had serious consequences for my career. My job requires a high level of discipline and a clean record. I called around 15 lawyers in the area. When I called Mr. Long, I spoke directly with him. When we spoke VIA email, he responded in a timely manner. I am sure he has a large case load but still found time to speak. The price was reasonable for the outcome. I found cheaper lawyers and more expensive lawyers but Mr. Long's experience with the area was worth it. The case was dismissed. I could not have been more pleased with his professionalism and most importantly, his results.

Mr. Long is a graduate of the College of William and Mary, where he was the captain of the varsity wrestling team. After graduation, Mr. Long coached high school wrestling for five years, during which he was named coach of the year and Vice President of the Virginia Independent School Wrestling Association.

He then enrolled in the Washington and Lee School of Law, which is one of the top twenty-five law schools in the United States. During law school, Mr. Long interned with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office in Loudoun County and clerked for a federal judge in Philadelphia.

After graduating from law school, Mr. Long settled down in Richmond, Virginia, where he worked at the Public Defender’s Office in the City of Richmond. Mr. Long rose to the level of Deputy Public Defender while handling cases ranging from misdemeanor traffic offenses to murder, rape and arson.

Mr. Long developed a reputation as both a exceptional litigator and a shrewd negotiator. After leaving the Public Defender’s Office, Mr. Long became a partner at the law firm of Meyer, Baldwin, Long & Moore, where he continues to defend citizens against the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Reckless driving reduced

David was crucial in success from advising me immediately upon initial consultation to prepping me for pleading my case before the judge. He got a reckless driving charge reduced to infraction and without him I would’ve been SOL. Virginia doesn’t mess around. Hire this attorney. You’ll be very glad you did.

Did what he promised and more

Stupid Mistake...Stellar Solution

Had a speeding ticket for a sunny Saturday afternoon with zero traffic on the road. I forgot about the classic Virginia problem of 20 over posted = reckless driving. I consulted with David Long via email, he returned my call, and that was that. He recommended a driving class and he pleaded my case to the judge.

Quick, swift and smooth

The office got back to me about a day after I sent my inquiry. I was explained what the fees and process was during the first call with staff. I received a call from David later that day to let me know what he would be doing and whether or not he could take the case. I live in NYC so everything was done over the phone including the payment and that was very convenient. He communicated with me via email and updated me through the process. Once court took place I was sent specific details on the next steps just 2 days after which is a great turn around time.

Great result

Mr. Long helped with a reckless driving charge for teen grandson who sped around a weaving truck. After the court date, grandson was smiling that the charge was lowered and his first comment was "he was great!" He was responsive to questions we had throughout the time before the court date. Would recommend him to anyone.

Highly recommend

I received a reckless driving charge for speeding on I-85 in Dinwiddie County earlier this year. I was not an in-state resident and had never had any traffic violations before, so I was very concerned about this particular charge. After thorough research, I ended up reaching out to Mr. Long. I found him to be very professional, honest, and straightforward in all of our interactions. He did not make me any wild promises, but did let me know what I should expect and what he could realistically achieve. He asked me to complete online driving classes and write a personal statement, since I would not be able to make the court date due to work obligations. He was great about responding to emails and/or voicemails in a timely manner, and I found his fee to be very fair. My charge ended up getting reduced to a minor infraction, which did not carry any driving point penalties, something I remain very thankful for. All-in-all, I would highly recommend Mr. Long to anyone looking for a lawyer in the area.

Positive experience with traffic violation

Saved our Lives!

I contacted Mr. Long after a thorough search as my son was stopped for speeding in Virginia, and we live in New England. Upon first contact with Mr. Long and his office, I had a feeling that this person was going to help. Help is an understatement. As a speeding ticket in Virginia could constitute a misdemeanor with huge surcharges, Mr. Long acted swiftly and was able to reduce the charge to mechanical failure in which we had to pay a fee and court fines--and no ticket and no surcharge! Traffic Court in Brunswick County VA

In July 2021, I was traveling US 58 for the 1st time in over 30 years when I was stationed in Norfolk in the US Navy. I received a speeding citation from the Brunswick County VA Sheriffs Office. I researched traffic court attorneys for Brunswick County VA area (I live in NC) and I selected David Long. We spoke over the phone and he confirmed everything I needed to do with an email. He advised me of my options and the possibilities for that could occur (best case and worst case scenarios). He was professional, specific and detailed about what I needed to do before my court date.
