Travis Ryan Van Hook

So I worked with Travis in defending a restraining order case. I honestly was not satisfied with working with him. He was great at responding to me, but overall I felt like he took the option of what was easier for him rather than best for me. I hired him initially to try to mediate the situation bet...ween the other party, and I honestly felt like he could of done more or be more persuasive and was a bit meek. Then, when the situation did get resolved by itself due to the other party having a change of heart, he didn't give me the option to have it dropped with prejudice, thus giving me the safety of knowing that the other party could not use the circumstances of the case against me in the future should they have decided to re-file. He claimed this was the 'best thing to do and just to trust him' to do it without prejudice, meaning they could use the circumstances against me in the future if they wanted to. He claimed this would of been 'too difficult' to do.. but like, I spent money paying him to get me the best possible outcome. At this point the other party had already contacted me and I know they would of agreed to the outcome I wanted. But he didn't at all advise me of the different options I had and simply went for what was the easier option for him but not the best option for me. I literally could of had the same exact outcome myself but I paid for a lawyer to get me the best possible scenario and he didn't do so. Also he kept telling me we had no shot to win the case overall had it gone to court where I had other lawyers tell me we did. I went with him for the price, which still wasn't cheap, but I guess you get what you pay for. If you want a lawyer who will get you the best outcome or be a fighter, Travis isn't it. I'd give him 1.5 stars.

Mere words will never fully express the anxiety I experienced when it became apparent that an attorney would be needed in my case, with less than a week before the court date. I cannot fathom any legal situation, requiring a Family Law attorney, which does not invoke some sense of hardship, grief, and downright emotional toil. Travis became the light on the darkest of days. Without his guidance and expertise, the best interest of my child would never have been represented. As a single father, the road to justice can be daunting and even bias at times. Mr. Van Hook navigated these obstacles with an unsurpassed passion that has undoubtedly become an answer to prayer.
