About Karen

Biography

It's not hard to find a good family law attorney; it's hard to find one who is invested in helping you do what works for you and your family.

Your children are the single most important thing in your life. We help you make plans for them in their best interests.

Divorce is painful; working with a divorce attorney shouldn't be.

The best decisions are the ones you make yourself. Mediation and parent coordination are processes that let you do just that.

divorce / custody case

I hired Mrs. Robbins for my divorce / custody case and couldn't be more pleased with the service she provided. I had a difficult case and was certain that it would go to trial but with her expertise we managed to settled my case in mediation. Not only did she give great advise but her staff of parale...gals were also very helpful. She is a very dedicated and experienced attorney that knows how to take charge of a difficult situation. Her rates are reasonable and unlike other attorneys she did not nickel and dime me for a every little thing. Her service was worth every penny and i would highly recommend her!

Review of Karen Robbins

I hired Karen on a recommendation from another attorney. I found Karen to be honest and ethical and fair. She is also tough and assertive. She sees the "big picture" and will tell you what is possible and what is not possible, what is reasonable to expect and what is not. I felt genuinely cared ...for - not only from her, but also her office staff. She is experienced and knows the other attorneys and those that work in the court system. She has a great reputation. I went in the courthouse to file papers and I needed to ask directions. The clerk wanted to know who my attorney was and when I told her "Karen Robbins", she grinned from ear to ear and told me what a great person she is and a great attorney. I also enjoyed reading her blog (and still do!). I felt like I really got to know her through reading it, what her thought processes are, and the sound advice she gives to those of us going through this terrible time. Having said that, you DO have to be your own advocate - make sure you read over everything carefully and that all that was agreed to is included in your documentation.

Kind yet tough

She is a great lawyer. Keeps conflict to a minimum but can definitely be tough when she needs to be. Listens to the client, gives great advice and can handle difficult, conflicted divorces. Her support staff is professional with a personal touch.

Karen and staff are awesome!

I hired Karen to handle my custody case after firing my previous attorney. Her and her staff exceeded my expectations, my case was handled expertly with assertiveness and class.

If you don't want to worry about your divorce, hire Karen!

Karen represented me in a very long and agonizing divorce involving complicated custody and property issues, and I could not have been in better hands. She is extremely smart and knowledgeable about all areas of family law; she knows the Maryland court system (and personnel) inside and out; and she ...is tenacious and tough but also reasonable and knows when to give. When my ex and I were at an impasse during a day-of-trial settlement, Karen was quick to think of creative solutions that enabled us to hammer out a settlement. She doesn't give up. She was also always prepared for our many court hearings, and knew my case inside and out. She was very conscientious about billing, and just a nice person. It was such a relief to not worry about my divorce, knowing it was in very capable hands.
