Nina Macfadden Helwig

Nina Helwig is a very responsive and professional attorney for child custody related issues. She is the Best Interest Attorney for my son. She was involved with our case since the separation. She testified during the Custody Hearing and has met multiple times with me and my ex-husband and our chil...d. My son was very young at the time of the divorce and Mrs. Helwig did a wonderful job interacting with my young child. There was a international flight risk with our case and Mrs. Helwig handling this very professionally.

When I was thrown into a custody case Ms. Helwig, I had no idea what to do. My ex was refusing to let me see my daughters and was making up stories about me that were not true. Ms. Helwig was appointed as the best interest attorney for my daughters, and she saved the day. She contacted all of my d...aughters principals and teachers, school counselors, their therapists, and neighbors. She really got to the bottom of the situation and showed that I was a good father. Now I have complete visitation with my daughters!

Ms. Helwig really came through for me and my family last month. I was worried that I was going to lose custody of my daughter to my ex who has alcohol problems. I noticed that there are a couple of mediocre reviews for Ms. Helwig. I can tell you that as a Best Interest Attorney, there will usually be 50% of any BIA clients who are not going to be happy with the outcome of the results. In our case, the court ordered Ms. Helwig as our BIA. Neither party had... any knowledge of who Ms. Helwig was other than reading the reviews on this site. I can tell you that Ms. Helwig investigated our custody situation inside and out. She was thorough, professional, and really dug into our custody matter to find the REAL truth. She found out the true extent of the acrimony, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, she only cared about what would be best for the children. Reading all other reviews about Ms. Helwig lead me to believe that any negative reviews of her are from parties who ended up on the losing end of custody. I can say this with 100% certainty...If Ms. Helwig is retained as your BIA she will find the truth. If a party is acting in a way that is detrimental to YOUR children, then Ms. Helwig will get to the bottom of it and make her recommendations based on that information. Her prior experience gives her an exceptional ability to really develop a clear picture, and reach the TRUTH on behalf of the children she represents. 5 stars is not nearly a high enough rating for Nina Helwig!

Mrs.Helwig was the BIA for my younger sister about 2-3 years ago throughout the ongoing case for custodial modification between my father and his ex-wife. When I met with Mrs.Helwig, she was very friendly, and even more, she was very compassionate to the situation and my sister. When she met with my ...family, she showed real interest in getting to know each individual member, and asked questions that revolved around the stability of our household and my sister. She never once brought up the opposing party, or her opinion on that side of the case. She was not biased at all, and only had interest in what was important - my sister. Rather than engaging in friendly, meaningless conversation, she got down to the nitty gritty, and did her job. When the case turned out in my father's favor, his ex-wife was very spiteful and blamed Mrs.Helwig, calling her "unprofessional and biased". However, that is not truthful, and quite frankly she acted out as a "sore loser". As someone who was not directly involved in the case, but as a mere outsider who has been in both homes, I can honestly say that Mrs.Helwig did her job, and she did it well. PSA to those who write bad reviews because the case did not turn out in their favor: find something better to do with your time!!!
