Jeremy Rachlin practices in all areas of civil and commercial litigation, including contract, employment, estate, fiduciary, and real estate litigation, representing both individuals and businesses in the courts of Maryland and the District of Columbia. As part of Jeremy's practice, he works with clients through all stages of litigation or transactional work and he prides himself on prompt attention to his client's needs. Jeremy handles a wide range of cases from those involving relatively straightforward principles of law to those involving highly complex or novel legal issues. He and his colleagues at JDKatz, P.C., work collaboratively, constantly conferencing with each other formally and informally to develop the most zealous approach to their litigation strategy, while being mindful at all times that litigation is costly to their clients and attempting to minimize such costs when possible.
Jeremy graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, and citations from both the University Honors Program and the Gemstone Honors Program. He received his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Maryland School of Law where he was the Managing Editor of The Journal of Health Care Law & Policy. Prior to joining JDKatz, P.C., Jeremy served a one-year judicial clerkship to The Honorable John W. Debelius III of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County. Following his clerkship, Jeremy practiced for five years in the litigation department at another firm in Bethesda. Jeremy is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Bar Association of Montgomery County, Maryland, the Montgomery County, Maryland Chapter of American Inn of Court, and he presently serves on the New Practitioner's Committee, the Labor and Employment Committee, the Estates and Trusts Committee, and the Circuit-Court Bench Bar Committee of the Montgomery County Bar Association. Within these Bar Association groups, Jeremy has ascended to numerous leadership positions and was recognized by the Montgomery County Bar Foundation as a "Bar Leader" in 2012. He was recently elected Treasurer of the Montgomery County Bar Association. He was named a "Rising Star" by Maryland Super Lawyers Magazine in 2012 and 2013 and a "Rising Star" by District of Columbia Super Lawyers Magazine in 2013. He has been recognized as a "Super Lawyer" (amongst the top 5% of lawyers in the State of Maryland) by Maryland Super Lawyer's Magazine each year from 2014 through 2018.
Jeremy is licensed to practice in the state and federal courts of Maryland, the District of Columbia, and is also licensed to practice in the United States Tax Court.
