E2 status

Alex was very efficient through the whole process to help me to obtain my E2 status; the communication with him was very good and felt supported through the process. I will strongly recommended him.

Client Review for Immigration Case (2012-2013)

My husband and I hired Alex Isbell to handle my immigration case in early 2012. I found his communications regarding the actual filing and USCIS interviews to be trustworthy and appropriate. His fees were competitive. He prepared us well for the interview. I am glad that he accompanied us for the US...CIS interview as he was able to establish a good rapport with the interviewing officer. However, I think he can certainly improve his services by reviewing his submittals for errors and being more communicative. Below are some experiences that support my suggestions for improvement: 1. I found a lot of mistakes in the application even though we filled a detailed questionnaire to assist him in the preparation of the application. The application required two revisions and a lot of my time. 2. At the interview, USCIS officer informed us that we should get an approval in few days. We waited for a month and contacted Alex. He said that everything should be fine. We waited for three more months and contacted Alex again. At this point he informed us that he has contacted the interviewing officer and if he hears anything he would let us know. We did not get any communication from Alex after that and contacted USCIS ourselves. We assumed that the fees we paid him did not cover the follow up with USCIS. We received an email from him two months later that the case was approved. We would have appreciated if he had sent us a short email with a status update in the interim. Overall, I would recommend him.

not professional

Our immigrant son had a language misunderstanding on his schedule and we had to cancel an appointment with Alex with a full 24 hours notice. I was disheartened that we didn't hear back from Alex Isbell after we left several messages with his receptionist who seemed apologetic. Even if he had decide...d not to take on this case, communication would have been the decent thing to do. Since we never heard back with any eplanation, we experienced his lack of communication as quite unprofessional. Fortunately, we had recommendations for a competent immigration attorney. I certainly don't recommend working with this lawyer.

Hello Michelle, I am so sorry for the miscommunication that caused this to occur. As I stated when we spoke over the phone, our office was communicating with another client with a nearly identical name and our wires got crossed. We're so sorry that this happened, and happy that you have found one of my colleagues to work with. Best of luck, and we apologize for this very human error. Alex

Horrible experience, will not recommend to any one, AVOID!!!

Well, where should I start? First of all, they always seem busy, whenever I message them they used to tell me about their other cases. If I was given free service then I can understand, but if I am paying then why will I hear about my attorney been busy with other clients and can't give time to my ca...se?? If you are that busy and can't give time then why take my case in first place? Check other reviews, you will see how they delayed others cases as well. Second, they delayed replying by almost 2 months!!! Yes took them 2 months after I gave all the info to them to reply to RFE. When I kept asking about why my case is taking long they got angry and told me to take my case elsewhere!! How UNPROFESSIONAL. And to top it all off, I didn't get the visa which they told me I will get, so waste of money, got everything delayed and then didn't get any visa either. Worst experience of all time.

It is difficult to respond in detail to an anonymous and general review of this nature. I can say that whenever a government authority denies a case on behalf of one of our clients, it is upsetting to us as well. And for what it is worth, I wish that the outcome of this matter, whatever it was, were different. RFEs and similar matters run the gamut from routine, to potentially more complex than an original filing itself. Sometimes even after receiving evidence from clients we as attorneys need to contemplate strategies and alternatives to ensure that we are doing all that we can to best represent our clients' interests. On occasion this will take more time than anticipated or more time than clients expect. I can assure you that no one at our firm deliberately or capriciously delays cases, that would make very little sense. Furthermore, as noted in this review - we complied with all government deadlines associated with the case, which is our obligation when it comes to RFEs and other documents. With respect to the ultimate outcome of this case, again we never like to see our clients' objectives scuttled by adverse decisions. However, I have never in my eleven years of practice promised anyone that he or she would "get a visa." I cannot do this and never will, because I do not work for USCIS, EOIR, or any other government agency. From the start of every case I undertake, I ensure that clients understand this fact.

Application for Visa E2 - Open new Business

I'm an entrepreneur and I have moved to Philly to open a new business. I set up a meeting to Alex Isbell to discuss about my VISA application. I hired Alex early in November 2015. Sent my VISA application to the US Embassy in Rome before Xmas was my goal. He told me that process to prepare the appl...ication should have taken almost 1 month. I have worked full time for my VISA and I have supported Alex with all myself. I showed him my concern about the process that was going to take long time late November. Alex told me not to be worry. We sent E-2 VISA application December 24. Unfortunately, it was incomplete. He received more request from the Consular Section and my VISA process took long time. During the process, he sent to me official documents with grammar error and mistakes. That surprised me. Entire E-2 VISA process has taken almost 5 months, revisions and integrations has taken about 3 months. If you need to open a new business and the time is money, maybe you should try another immigration lawyer. I hope to made myself clear.

I fully acknowledge my grammatical mistakes and typos. Like all human beings, I strive for perfection, but have not yet achieved it. As for the completeness of this client's E-2 visa application, it was submitted in compliance with the procedural limitations of one of the world's most difficult consular sections. This process was further complicated by the fact that in the middle of the case's processing time, the consular section in question changed its procedural and filing requirements. Even had this not happened, USCIS, the Department of State, the Department of Labor and all of the governmental agencies we work with on a regular basis have the right to request additional evidence in support of cases, and these requests can delay case processing. It would make no logical sense for me to submit incomplete applications in any case as this would only serve to frustrate clients and create excess work for my staff. While I understand that this client was frustrated by the E2 process, the fact remains that he was issued an E2 investor and he is now free to pursue and achieve his entrepreneurial goals. We wish him nothing but the greatest success in his endeavors in the United States.
