Worse than the Most Pathetic

The first review says it all. This liar never did a lick of work on my case. He wouldn't return my calls. He did no discovery. None. He finally returned my calls and demanded I settle or he would tell the judge I was abusing the court. He wanted to make a quick buck, to settle for peanuts, telling me... we couldn't possibly get more. This filthy liar demanded $500,000 initially and then insisted I accept their offer of $6,000. Totally incompetent, threatening, deceitful little punk. Look at the cases he's taken to court. Try to find 1 he won. Forget the good reviews. I have no doubt he gives them to himself. He was written up in "Ripoff Report" several times. He promised to make all kinds of changes in his "practice" to have them delete the complaints they received on him. Yea right. He is so bad you won't believe it. Seriously. Stay away. He will screw you to manipulate you so he can make a few bucks. That's his MO. Look up what judges have to say about him. He was sanctioned for about $50,000 in just one case!

Specializes in Malpractice… literally.

1 star is too deserving for this lawyer and his firm. Matt Weisberg and his snake oil salesman/partner Gary Schaftkopf talk a big game, but when it gets down to actually doing any work they are nowhere to be found. Questions about the quality of their rushed subpar work get ignored for weeks and mo...nths. They sell you hard and fast on the merits of your case but once you're locked into the engagement they disappear, and you have to chase them to put work into your cases. You get stuck spoon feeding your case details and strategy to an inexperienced lower-level associate who admits there is too much work on his plate. This place is for you if you like gaslighting, unprofessional, and incompetent (they filed the wrong motions/petitions in the wrong courts on multiple occasions) lawyers. I've been waiting for months for filings they stated were filed just to find out from the courts nothing was ever submitted. This firm should be put out of business the way its run. I'll follow up this review and post the correspondence with Weisberg so everyone can see for themselves how they have no business being malpractice attorneys. Their only role in the legal system should be as defendants in Malpractice claims. BEWARE of these gaslighting hacks.

Warning: just save yourself the migraine

We had the unfortunate experience of dealing with this firm after our small business was affected by the pandemic. We own multiple restaurants that were shut down during COVID and simply ran out of money. We thought it was a blessing at first dealing with Weisberg but soon realized the nightmare we g...ot ourselves into. Out of desperation for our claims we signed a 50 percent contingency agreement. Not a problem. We understood the risk and situation. But when you are promised an experienced attorney and a well staffed firm to handle your various complex litigations, you feel a bit scammed when all you get is led in circles. Hiring weisberg has been almost as stressful as losing our businesses. They are rude, understaffed, and simply out for quick easy settlements so they can cash in. They want to expend the least amount of energy on your case to easily cash in on your misfortune. They act as though once they are hired they are beyond reproach. They switch to being responsive and attentive during the engagement signing phase and then you don’t hear from them for weeks. You might get a random frantic email or call once a deadline is minutes away to recap you already told some other attorney who apparently was just a salesman to land your case. What a racket and something you’d expect from an ambulance chasing - loud arrogant injury attorney from a late night commercial. Run far away from Weisbergs racket.

Outstanding Attorney

Matthew Weisberg very recently represented me on a discrete legal issue and the representation was highly effective and professional. He was extremely responsive, decisive and knowledgable; he is a truly outstanding attorney. As a fellow attorney in the Pennsylvania legal community, I have referred M...r. Weisberg numerous matters as well, due to his acumen and skill, and will continue to do so.

Save yourself the time and money and look elsewhere.

I was facing a sale of my home in January. In complete desperation I reached out to Mr. Weisburg for help. In the first week of December. The only thing he did was take my money and leave me with nothing. I called Mr. Weisburg two to three times a day and each time was told by his receptionist that ...he was not avalible. Two days before the scheduled sale I was down at City Hall filling for an energency postponement of the sale. One week after the original sale date Mr Weisburg called me back. I informed him that I was able to pistpone the sale and was in the process of saving my home on my own. Mr. Weisburg became rude and condisending, after going back and forth Mr. Weisburg agreed to return a portion of the fees I paid. He was going to speak to his partner and then send it. Mr. Weisburg stated that I was not permittied to come to the office for the refund, that he would send it. After a few weeks of no check and no return calls from Mr. Weisburg I gave up and chalked it up to a loss. Do yourself a favor and fun far away from this person.
