Kathryn did an outstanding job for me and my boyfriend during his custody battle for his son. She kept us positive and always on the plus side of things especially when they got tough. She is a tough, passionate attorney who did an amazing job representing us at trial. Any concerns we had she was sure to address and get back in a very timely manner wether it be her or her office. After speaking with several lawyers about our case, I was happy to meet with Kathryn. Not only was the consult free but she was confident enough to know what action needed to be taken in regards to our situation. Kathyrn is a rare gem in this world. She cares about you first . Her law knowledge is amazing. She responded to me day or night. Her fees were terrific compared to the giant firms.

I was recommended the usage of Kathryn through the local Bar Association. I've had one experience with a lawyer before, and I wasn't looking forward to dealing with another. Kathryn completely shattered my expectations of a lawyer, and made me realize how bad my previous experience was. The free consultation was not rushed and exceeded the half hour I anticipated. She didn't seem to want me out of the office as expeditiously as possible. She took the time to listen to my issue, asked questions, and genuinely took interest and saw the reason I needed legal assistance. Already different than my previous lawyer who heard me say two words then told me what to do. Her prices were much better than I anticipated. She voiced different options I could take, and talked about which would be the cheaper method that would hopefully avoid long ,expensive litigation. She didn't seem like she just wanted to take the most money possible from me- she took me, her client, and put my needs before her own income. And for the work that she did for me, I feel like she could have doubled what she charged. Kathryn responded to emails EXTREMELY fast. Within an hour fast. Even after regular business hours and on weekends, she responded. The job she was tasked to do, she undertook and owned it completely, and seemingly giving me the resolution that I desire. I never expected a lawyer to actually "care", I just figured they were all in it for money. She 100% was the opposite from what I expected from an attorney. I am not the type of person to write /post reviews. Good or bad - I just don't have the time, and I don't see much value in praising people for just doing "their jobs"... but in this case I feel compelled to. I was referred to Kathryn from a business partner that raved about her focus and quality of work, and due to the urgency of the matter at hand, I didn't "shop around" anywhere else. I am so glad I did't have the time to make any other choices because I have never been so completely satisfied with services provided to me. Kathryn, not only handled my situation flawlessly (I had a State Agent say "In my 20 years of doing this I have only seen these requests filled out this perfectly once before.") she also worked late in the evenings and over a holiday weekend to meet a deadline that if missed, would have cost me weeks of work. I truly can't say enough positive things about Kathryn. If you call her and she says "Yes, I can do that!" then you can count on it being done, and done correctly. I wouldn't consider using anyone else in the future, and neither should you!

I had been struggling with getting a divorce for over 5 years using another attorney. I was referred to Kathryn through mutual friends, and after our initial consultation, she came up with a strategy that was not just sound, but it was effective. So effective, that less than 5 months later, I had the divorce decree in my hand. Her rates are more than reasonable for the service she provides, she's down to earth and approachable, and I could tell she genuinely wanted to help with my situation. I wasn't just a client with an hourly rate attached; she became an advocate because she recognized I was being treated unfairly. Kathryn Nonas-Hunter is an outstanding example of how the role of a lawyer can change people's life. Starting from the very first initial visit, she absolutely shined. We actually live in Alabama, and so it was a tough case to begin with. She not only poured her heart and soul into, she was sincere and went above and beyond the call of duty. She would respond to my questions even if they were late at night or on weekends. Kathryn is hands down the most amazing and respectful lawyers I have ever had the opportunity to deal with. Her staff was amazing as well. I never once had to wait a long time for any information. They were all very hands on and a blessing to deal with. She was very knowledgable about all aspects regarding child custody. If you want an amazing lawyer, she is the one to go to!

Kathryn Nonas-Hunter is an EXCELLENT example of what an attorney should be! ;) She is a true advocate for her clients and knows the law very well. The best thing we can say about her more than what she DOES know, is that she knows what she DOESN'T know. She will not try to "wing it," if she unsure about something...she will review it extensively and, if necessary, refer to another attorney who specializes in a field she may or may not have much experience with. She will, however; be with her client(s), learning and translating "legalese" to plain ol' English for those of us who entrust legal matters to her knowledgeable and pleasant....not to mention...top notch ethics. She is thorough, kind, and pleasant but make no mistake...she does NOT like to lose and will walk as tall out of a courtroom as she walked in - win or lose - knowing she gave it her all and represented her client(s) to the BEST of her ability. You will definitely be pleased with her services and again, we highly recommend Kathryn for any legal need you may have as we've done...and will continue to use her!

Kathryn was nearly impossible to communicate with, she was an hour late for my appt, and she left me hanging until the morning of my court date to try and negotiate with opposing counsel. She completely failed to inform me that a court date had been rescheduled, then refused to take responsibility, as if it were beyond her control. Yet somehow my ex had been notified in a timely manner by his attorney. Kathryn was in such a hurry at my support conference that she advised me to settle for less support than the court officer offered. She was always in a hurry and more concerned about her overbooked schedule than properly advocating for her client. The Judge issued an order which Kathryn assured me would offer the protection I needed. However, later when I needed that order, the police would not enforce it. Kathryn then acted like she had never assured me of its protection to begin with.

I hired attorney Nonas in 5/2017 to divorce my husband. At that time I really had no money and was living in my office. I was very emotionally vulnerable. I really don't know what was going on in the practice she was in. I left her messages and emailed her paralegal with my concerns. She told me I could not get any assets until my husband was agreeable which could be at least a year from then. I left some messages with no response and finally talked to her paralegal and she said well haven't you applied for alimony with domestics. I said no was I suppose to? Her response was that I could go to domestics and file for alimony. I went that day feeling disgusted that Attorney Nonas failed to inform me of this after telling me repeatedly that there was nothing I could do. I had the hearing which she could not attend. Not long after that she was no longer at the practice she was at. I received no notification of this where she was or what I should do from there. I found out where she went and left messages and still no response. I had another hearing and hired a new attorney. I informed her that I no longer needed her services. My attorney sent her a form to release my services with her and she never signed it. I never heard from her or received any bills until I was served with papers being sued by her for the balance of my bill. I was stunned and have had enough heart ache with her and my on going divorce. I did not attend the hearing so I now have a court ordered judgement I must pay. There is no good reason for her lack of communication or sending me a bill prior to seuing me. She had my address phone number and work phone number. The reason I am writing this review now is my son recently died and recognizing that I need to share this since he was also affected by her behavior and her lack of assistance which caused a lot of grief and added trauma to an already difficult divorce. I will be talking to the judge who ordered the judgement to see if I can do any thing. I don't want anyone to suffer more than they have too because most times when you seek legal advice you are hurting enough.
