Exceptional legal representation

I recently had the privilege of working with Attorney Istik on a legal matter, and I couldn't be more impressed. From the moment I reached out, her professionalism and expertise were evident. She listened attentively to my concerns, provided clear and concise guidance, and worked tirelessly to achiev...e the best possible outcome for me. Throughout the process, Attorney Istik demonstrated exceptional communication skills, keeping me informed every step of the way and promptly addressing any questions or issues that arose. Her knowledge of the law and dedication to her clients truly sets her apart. I highly recommend their services to anyone in need of top-notch legal representation. Five stars all the way.

Exceeds all expectations

Deanna is the best possible attorney I could have ever hoped to hire for my custody case. She has always been punctual, professional, articulate, OVER-prepared, educated on every little nook and cranny of family law, etc. She has always responded to me extremely quickly, if not immediately, and has w...alked out of court with a victorious..every single time! After working with Deanna for several months, it's easy to see why she has the phenomenal reputation she has! I would give more than 5 stars if I could! It's always stressful hiring an attorney and shelling out a retainer, hoping for the best. Luckily for me, I had multiple people I know recommend her, and her reputation precedes her. I have had her on retainer since August and she has lived up to every good thing I have heard said about her, every step of the way. No one ever wants to be in a situation and that requires hiring an attorney, but if that's where you're at, Deanna Istik is the best possible investment you could make. I can't express enough how lucky my wife and I feel to have found a rockstar attorney that we now call a friend. Thank you Deanna for everything you have done and continue to do for us! You're worth every penny!

Terrible experience with this attorney in every way possible.

Deanna made an already painful divorce exceptionally long, more stressful, and emotionally and financially draining. I ended up needing another attorney to finish what she had barely started. The other attorney was able to get me a better agreement , and signed within three weeks of meeting me. Att...orney Istik made me feel like an inconvenience instead of a paying client. There was a lack of communication and organization. Each time I wanted to speak with her about anything, I would make an appointment for a meeting. At each meeting, I would bring a folder with all my information and documents, along with questions and concerns. Each time, it was like her meeting me for the first time. She didn’t know me or my case. After representing me for over a year, she mentioned in a meeting that she needed look at my file because she still had not been through everything. She would set up phone calls and meetings, only to ghost me on calls and cancel meetings last minute. At one meeting , she put stacks of papers in front of me, told me to go through them and let her know if anything “jumped out at me”. She then left me in the room alone for over an hour to search through documents on my own, that I had no idea what I was looking at. When I brought this up to her, she told me she had other clients paying her a lot of money that she needed to get to. Although I had paid her more than a year of my salary at that point, apparently it wasn’t enough to be a priority client. I was emailed the morning of a deposition to be told it was postponed. I had no knowledge that it was even scheduled that morning because she did not communicate that with me. She was paid in full each month for two years. She continued taking action towards a trial even though I told her I wanted to settle and financially could not continue that route. Then two days before an important milestone in my case was to take place, she emailed and told me I needed to pay my bill or basically she was done with me. I told her I was confused about what I owed, why I owed it and reminded her that I told her on at least two occasions, I was out of finances and needed to settle, but she ignored it. I told her If she would have talked to me and explained what her charges were for, I would have made arrangements to take care of it. She had no communication with me about a bill or what needed paid and when. Instead of giving me the opportunity to understand and take care of what I needed to, she completely discarded me. When I questioned why she was doing this to me, she responded “You work in a dental office, I wouldn’t ask you to pull my teeth for free so you can’t expect me to work for nothing “. I was completely devastated and shocked at how she spoke to me. She kept me waiting, confused and feeling hopeless much of my two year experience with her. However, I couldn’t have imagined it would end with her draining my finances and having to go to another attorney to be divorced. My case was not that complicated. There was such little effort to help me, even though she was paid. The fact that another attorney was able to accomplish so much in under a month, validates the amount of urgency here. If you are not ok with having a representative with a lack of communication, organization and compassion , look elsewhere. I constantly felt like I was a bother to her, instead of a paying client. Her work seems to be hit and miss. I obviously was a huge miss.

While I cannot comment on specifics due to the nature of my business, I would like to address some factual inaccuracies. First, I was not the originating attorney on this matter. This case was originated prior to my hire date with my firm and from my understanding, had been transferred several times throughout the firm. As a lawyer that was assigned this case after it had been originated some time prior thereto, I did my best to grasp the file and concepts. Second, this individual did not pay me for “two years”, as I wasn’t even employed by this firm for two years. I wasn’t assigned this case immediately upon being hired and believe that I only worked on this matter for a few months. Third, pursuant to the terms of our Engagement Letter, we were not permitted to work on files that did not have active retainers. Not only did this client not have an active retainer, she owed a significant sum of money to the firm that I was employed through at the time. Finally, I always met with the client upon request, timely responses to emails and telephone calls. I advised this client appropriately and instructed her as to what needed to be done with her matter. However, I was not going to proceed with significant discovery or depositions until she made payment pursuant to the Engagement Letter that she signed and acknowledged. Likewise, at the time of my departure from my prior firm, I was in discussions with Opposing Counsel in regard to a settlement agreement. It’s easy for someone else to pick up a file and complete a settlement agreement that was nearly complete at the time of my departure. I also have several emails from this individual who indicated that not only was she satisfied with my work, but she thought I was the only member of the particular firm that she worked with that actually took the time to move her case forward. It is unfortunate that this individual is expressing her frustration for the firm that she dealt with prior, on me.

Turned my whole case around!!

Deanna worked with me on a custody case. A case I was losing terribly due to another attorney promising me things she couldn’t deliver. Deanna stepped in and turned things around for me greatly! I went from being terrified what was going to happen next to getting exactly what I wanted! All within ab...out a month of hiring her! I am thrilled with my outcome and wouldn’t have been able to do it without her. I would absolutely recommend Deanna!
