Amanda Bonnesen is a managing partner at Berger and Green, P.C., where she dedicates her practice to helping individuals across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia navigate the complex Social Security Disability (SSD) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) claims process. With a deep commitment to her clients and a thorough understanding of disability law, Attorney Bonnesen brings both skill and genuine compassion to every case she handles.
A graduate of the Linsly School, Attorney Bonnesen earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina, where she was inducted into the Criminal Justice Honor Society and participated in the National Student Exchange at the University of Wyoming. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton School of Law in 2006, where she took an active role in the Pro Bono Appellate Project and the University's Law Clinic, providing free legal services to those in need. Her judicial clerkship experience includes serving under Judge Walter Rice in the Federal District Court of the Sixth Circuit and Judge Jennifer Sargus in Belmont County, Ohio — experiences that gave her a strong foundation in federal and state court proceedings.
Before focusing her practice on Social Security disability law, Attorney Bonnesen built her litigation skills as an Assistant Public Defender in Allegheny County, representing clients in high-stakes matters and developing the courtroom instincts that continue to serve her clients today.
Attorney Bonnesen understands that applying for disability benefits is rarely a quick or straightforward journey. She is candid with her clients about the challenges ahead while remaining a steadfast advocate every step of the way. Recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2017 to 2021 — an honor reserved for the top five percent of Pennsylvania attorneys — Attorney Bonnesen is also an active member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives (NOSSCR) and the Allegheny County Bar Association, where she serves on the Social Security Practitioners Committee. She is licensed to practice in all Pennsylvania state and federal courts, as well as Social Security courts throughout the United States.
