Biography
Ms. Tebano has litigated cases in all Capital Region courts that hear family law and divorce matters. After nearly two decades of practice, Maria offers extensive experience in the highly specialized areas of matrimonial law including agreements ( prenuptial, postnuptial, and separation), custody and visitation, equitable distribution, spouse and child support evaluations, enforcement and modification proceedings, awards of counsel fees and expert fees. Maria also offers strategic, goal oriented representation in a variety of other practice areas, among them are matters involving all aspects of civil litigation , employment law , real estate transactions, and trusts and estates .
Maria earned her B.A. degree in psychology from the State University of New York at Albany, her J.D. degree from St. Thomas University School of Law and then went on to obtain a Master of Laws in Taxation (L.L.M.) from the University of Miami School of Law.
Maria has been featured as a speaker for the National Business Institute (NBI) and Lorman Education Services on a variety of topics, including civil litigation, and family and divorce law.

HORRIBLE LAWYER !! DO NOT use this divorce attorney!!
Tebano asked me if I had contributed to my 401k, just 2 days before trial. I was able to produce my pay stubs from 20 years ago, the next day. Replied last October 08, 2018Comments are untrue. Complex matrimonial litigation takes into consideration issues involving child support, custody, spousal support, counsel fees, and splitting of assets. There are also times that clients engage in behavior and activities that prevent matters from either settling in a timely manner or in their individual best interests. Because attorney’s are entrusted with confidential client information, we are not permitted to disclose each and every reason why choices are made by clients and/or their attorneys. If attorneys were permitted to spread on social media all the reasons why decisions are made in the context of litigation, perhaps people like Mr. Klimchak would not be inclined to post such unfounded remarks and find a better use for their time. Anyone who personally knows Mr. Klimchak may understand why he settled in the manner that he did, which had nothing to do with my representation of him. Trust your own experiences and do not base your opinion about an attorney on a client who may have things to hide or other interests to protect to only later complain, when it is impossible for a full and complete response to be posted.

Replied last December 16, 2017Can you trust a post from an individual who can't even get the name spelled correctly or makes a post anonymously? This is most likely an individual who is well known to most of the members of the bar, they are the client that created their own problems, asked for services that they refused to pay for, and that went well beyond the services you were asked to provide, treated you the worst of all clients you ever represented and then when they did not receive everything for free, used social media to express themselves without giving you the truth. Anyone looking for a good attorney should never listen to one person, who was the worst of all clients. Why, because they are lying to you as much as they are lying to themself. Judge us by our comments on AVVO and your own personal experiences not by one, bitter and angry person, who doesn't appreciate how well they were represented.
