About Brittni

Biography

Brittni Sullivan is a Partner at Burner Prudenti Law, P.C. She joined the firm in January 2013 as a legal intern while she was still in law school. Since 2015, Brittni has been concentrating her practice in the areas of Estate Planning and Medicaid as well as Guardianship.

In 2024, for the eighth consecutive year, Brittni was named a Rising Star attorney for the New York Metro area by Super Lawyers, Thomson Reuters publication. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state receive this honor.

She was also recognized as a 2025 The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch for Elder Law in Setauket, NY for the second consecutive year.

Brittni received her Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Iona College in 2011 where she graduated magna cum laude. She was inducted into Delta Epsilon Sigma for excellence in Political Science and was the nominated President during her senior year. She then received her Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law in 2014. While attending law school, Brittni was the recipient of the Linda Carmody-Roberts Scholarship for her commitment to pursuing a career in the Trust & Estates and Elder Law fields. Additionally, Brittni was a Public Justice Foundation fellow for her commitment to community service.

In 2018, she received the honor of being named an “Outstanding Woman in Law” by Hofstra Law’s Center for Children, Families and the Law and Long Island Business News.
Brittni is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Suffolk County Bar Association and the VIBS Elder Law Committee. She is also a member of the Elder Law section of the Suffolk County Bar and New York State Bar Association Trusts and Estates section. She has written extensively on timely Elder Law, Estate Planning and Guardianship issues and presents at seminars often on such topics as they impact the senior population.

Brittni is licensed to practice in the State of New York. She lives in Port Jefferson with her husband, her daughters: Adelyn and Bianca, and two dogs: Buffalo and Peanut.

I have had the opportunity to work closely with her as she helps ALS patients, with whom I work closely. pALS (people living with ALS) are often challenged to communicate verbally, physically & or technologically. Compassionate and Expert Estate Planning Support

I am incredibly grateful to Brittni Sullivan for helping me get my mother’s affairs in order during a very difficult time. Excellent attorney for estate planning

I needed help revising very outdated will, health care proxy and similar documents. Brittni really impressed me with her knowledge. I had specific things I wanted in my documents that I wasn't sure if they were allowed or could be done. Brittni walked me thru step by step, assuring all along the w...ay. I have since referred her to friends and family. She is incredibly knowledgeable, patient and professional. Highly recommend!

Estate Planning

We hired Brittni to do our mother’s estate planning. Never an easy topic to discuss with elderly parents. Brittni was kind, patient, extremely professional and handled the whole matter for us. My mother, who is 87 years old, has difficulty hearing and Brittni was so patient and explained everything v...ery thoroughly so that my mother was completely understanding of everything that was being done. It was a great experience working with Brittni. Highly recommend!!
