These Reviews and Thank You Cards Show He is the Best Choice Among Bankruptcy Attorneys in Brooklyn

If you are at this site reading reviews of bankruptcy attorneys, then you are probably in debt and looking for the right bankruptcy attorney to hire. That was me six months ago. I was in debt with a dozen or so credit card companies totaling about $25,000. Both my wife and I work, but after paying... for rent, food, utilities, clothes, car payments, insurance, gas, the kids needs, etc., there was nothing left over to pay even the minimum payments on the credit cards. I never thought I would be in such a position. Does that sound like you? Thought so. That is when I turned to this site and found my bankruptcy attorney, Jay Simon. As I write this review, Mr. Simon has exactly 40 glowing reviews all saying pretty much the same positive things. Clients uniformly praise him for having excellent client focus. They talk about his caring, his kindness, generosity, how nice he is, how thoughtful, how much service he provided them, how supportive he was, etc., etc. I got the message and decided that Jay Simon would be the one I called. I now know that I made the right choice, so I decided I should return to the site and add my review to the others. I was worried my review would just be redundant. The only reason I felt it necessary to even bother was that a positive review was so richly deserved and maybe more reviews would convince some reluctant person perusing this site, that Jay Simon was the right choice for them, too. I just wanted to point out one more thing besides these reviews; in his office, tucked among all the interesting decorations that make his office so inviting, are maybe 50 to 100 thank you cards sent to Mr. Simon by past clients, thanking him for what he has done for them. While waiting to go to my creditors meeting, I read the cards. Pretty much all of them had handwritten notes describing how they felt about him and thanking him for what he did for them. (As a side note, Jay thought enough to protect the client's privacy and identities by blacking out their signatures on the cards so nobody would know their names). Have you ever seen a TV show where an doctor has pictures of all the babies he has delivered over the years? That is what the cards made me think of: all the people he has helped over the years that are grateful for what he had done for them. By simple extrapolation, figuring that most people don't bother to write reviews and/or send thank you cards, I can only imagine how many clients really have good things to say about Mr. Simon. Anyway, as you can see, I think very highly of Mr. Simon. He is a very special person to me. I feel lucky I found this site, these reviews, and that I went with my gut and sought out his help. Like all of the others, I want to praise him for making my chapter 7 bankruptcy a comfortable experience. That is why I am writing this review and also sending him a thank you card. Thank you, Jay, for all you did for me and my family. So if you are reading this, Jay Simon is wholeheartedly recommend by me!

Just Fill In Your Own Positive Adjectives!

Just got my discharge and am through with bankruptcy, so I feel it is time to write a review of my wonderful bankruptcy attorney. We never thank good people enough in this world, so here goes. I love the camaraderie Jay has with his clients. I never expected to feel like I was becoming friends with m...y bankruptcy attorney, but I did. He really got to know me personally and I could tell it was the same way with the other clients that I went with to my creditors meeting. I actually feel like I have made a friend. J is such an encouraging person. He has really watched over me throughout the process. He was very easy to deal with. He put me at ease the moment I walked into his office. He genuinely cared about my situation and offered a lot of worthwhile, thoughtful, personal advice. He made the whole process go as smooth as glass. I could not have found a better bankruptcy attorney. J is just a special person, not just a great bankruptcy lawyer. He did so many extra things that most other bankruptcy attorneys I don’t think do. My mom filed with another attorney last year, so I have a comparison. J was quick to get me in for my initial consultation at an inconvenient time for him, but convenient for me, while mom had to wait two weeks for her first appointment. He spent hours just going over bankruptcy, explaining stuff, before I even made a decision to file, while mom’s first appointment lasted a whopping 20 minutes and she was compelled to leave a deposit. J personally prepared my petition; going right to work then and there, while mom had to give documents to a paralegal, who did the work with a lot of back and forth. J took time and didn’t rush, as he wanted everything to be accurate. He also answered my many questions, calmly, simply, with a lot of knowledge. He peppered the preparation with stories from his experiences that made things interesting and helped me better understand things. After the filing, he sent an 8-page letter telling me about the meeting, instructing me on doing the education course, and other things having to do with bankruptcy. I received the letter in the mail two days after the papers were filed. Mom’s attorney didn’t send her anything for about two weeks and she only got a few sentences telling her when and where the meeting was and that she had to be there. On the day of the meeting, J had us meet with him an hour prior in his office, to review our petitions and discuss what was going to happen and then escorted us right to the meeting room. I loved not having to worry where I was going. Mom had to meet up with an attorney she never met before at the court. When we were through with the meeting, I actually wanted to hug him, but as I am a male, I thought it might be awkward for him and me. J would answer my emails almost immediately and he answers phones himself. Mom’s attorney would take days to respond to phone calls or emails. Jay reminded me, like clockwork, that I needed to do the education course that I was neglecting. The day I got my discharge, J was on the phone letting me know the news. I could hear in his voice that he was happy for me. He then sent a copy of the discharge under a fabulous, informative, full of advice, 18-page, cover letter, which also thanked me for hiring him and wished me good luck. Mom got no such call or letter. Mom only knew her case was discharged when she received the paper in the mail from the court. Last, mom’s attorney charged two and a half times as much as J and wasn’t worth even close to that. J, on the other hand, was worth about five times what I paid him. As you can see, J made this experience easy and painless. J took personal interest in me. I highly recommend J to anyone who wants first-class bankruptcy service. He is just the sweetest, most generous, caring, person I have met in a long time. Thank you for your hard work, your understanding, support, professionalism, compassion, all the extras and, especially, your friendship. - Top

Great Deskside Manner

Jay Simon reminds me of an old-fashioned small town doctor who would sit with you and listen to you and really wants to help you get well and have a happy, successful life. You are probably familiar with the term bedside manner. It is typically used to describe how a healthcare professional interac...ts and communicates with patients. A doctor with good bedside manner is likely a good communicator, a great listener, empathetic to their patients, and attentive to making the patient feel at ease. A doctor with poor bedside manner may come across as arrogant, abrupt, rude, and likely is not a great listener or communicator. The way a bankruptcy attorney interacts with clients can be called his deskside manner. So, if you pardon the expression, Jay Simon has a great deskside manner. I was impressed with how many great reviews he has here and elsewhere. That is why I called him to schedule an appointment. I am so glad that I did. In reality, he is even better than the reviews describe. Jay is such an impressive person. One of the best people I have ever met. He really takes care of his clients. You're not just a client, you're treated like family. A special bankruptcy relationship developed between us. Meeting with him is the equivalent of a warm hug. I felt warm and welcomed because he was smiling, making eye contact, truly interested and engaged in helping me by explaining bankruptcy and how it could help me get a new start. I found myself feeling better about my situation and my future after leaving his office because he was so pleasant, positive, and genuinely helpful. He has got the people skills that are really special. So kind. So good. He really helps people and makes bankruptcy as easy on clients as possible. He was very patient with me. He listened with his heart and was willing to assist me. He was on my side throughout. He took a great burden from me. He deserves a medal for all the good stuff he does for clients. Put simply, he makes bankruptcy better.

I'm glad we found Jay!

I have to complement my wife for picking the right attorney, Jay Simon, to represent us in our just completed bankruptcy case. We did not know who to contact when looking for representation and found reviews to be so valuable in our search; I wish more people would write reviews. From the first mom...ent that we had contact with Mr. Simon, who prefers to be called Jay, he put us at ease over our difficult decision to file bankruptcy. Jay is an excellent attorney who helped us get through our bankruptcy case. It has been a wonderful experience with Jay and I tell you, it was worth more than his fee. My wife and I have been very impressed with Jay's professionalism, patience, and caring throughout this process. Jay knows what he's doing. Not only that, he's very gracious and warm. During our initial meeting he was very patient, answered all of our questions and put our minds at ease while dealing with all the stress that one experiences when filing bankruptcy. He has an enormous patience for his clients. Many times we spent hours with him, asking many questions, not once did he express any impatience or look at his watch or clock. He is always kind and gracious. Jay was on top of everything from start to finish. My calls were always answered personally and emails were always returned promptly and he spent a good deal of time explaining details on the phone and in emails. Jay gave us confidence and positive energy that really helped bring up our morale, and we deeply appreciate that support. The process, under Jay's advices to us and his work, was as smooth as glass. He was extremely supportive, helpful and honest throughout the entire process. We can tell you that Jay is a genuine good guy, and a great bankruptcy attorney. Jay makes you feel like a family member instead of a client. Our outcome was favorable due to the expertise of Mr. Simon. His clients are lucky to have him. So stop your shopping around now, and call his office and make an appointment. Trust me, you won’t regret it. Going with Jay was one of the best choices we have ever made. He saved our family's financial future and he can do the same for yours. So yes, we would wholeheartedly recommend Jay to anyone looking for a bankruptcy attorney. Look no further, because you have found the best in Brooklyn. We love you, Jay. Joe D and Ann D

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"I endorse this lawyer. Why? When you have a question, he gives you an answer as if you were across his desk so you understand the law, your options, and the answer to your question. Sometimes on AVVO we see answers to questions that in essence just say to see an attorney which is ok..as that is the ultimate answer. But this attorney will go beyond and try and fully and completely and in my view accurately answer it. Is that not the type of attorney you want? I would hope so and for that reason I endorse him."
