Jay I. Simon

Mr. Simon was an immense resource for us when we wanted to file for bankruptcy. After meeting with us, he concluded that we'd be better off not filing for Chapter 7, and rather than accepting us as clients, he thought it was in our best interest to work with a Chapter 11 attorney. Being an expert in ...Chapter 7, he knew that it was not the best route for us. And being an honest professional, he referred us to someone who, based on his research, could serve our needs. We were pleased with the attorney he referred us to; however, our circumstances changed and we aborted the Ch. 11 process. I returned to Mr. Simon to ask if I could retain him for Ch. 7, but since I have been living out of state for several months, he said I must file in my current state. Unfortunately, living in NY for 1/4 of the year is not enough to file in NY. Filing in my current state of residence would be simpler, but the reason I want to file in NY is because I trust Mr. Simon and want him to represent me. He has given me so much good advice, even though I am ineligible to be his client. He cares about helping people and will share his knowledge and expertise, whether or not you are a paying client. Those who qualify to be clients of Mr. Simon are in good hands.

I am a big fan of Jay Simon’s. How can you not love Jay Simon? He affected my life in the most meaningful of ways. He got me my fresh start and he has a real heart. Jay is an awesome bankruptcy attorney and person. He is one of the sweetest guys in the world. He is adorably caring and conscient...ious. I think Jay is funny, genuine, quick witted, smart, and dear. He is perfection. I could feel the warmth in his office and that is totally a reflection of him. The office is very cute, friendly, cozy, and warm. I felt very comfortable and relaxed being there with him. Jay worked on my petition himself and I was his sole focus. He didn’t talk down to me. He went out of his way to treat me like an equal. His letters, following my filing and after the discharge, were detailed, yet easy to understand and chock-full of useful information. All of my bankruptcy questions, even those I never thought to ask, were answered. I especially like all the information he gave for getting my financial life back after bankruptcy. He actually took the time to teach me about bankruptcy and finance. I know he didn’t have to do that. Jay has near-magical client skills. He was very understanding about the situation I found myself. He has such a calm demeanor. He was supportive and caring. Another attorney, whose ad I spotted in the same paper right next to Jay’s, when I called him, actually yelled at me on the phone. Jay, on the other hand, is all that is good and right when it comes to bankruptcy attorneys. From my first call through preparing the petition, the meeting with the trustee, the discharge and beyond, he was always “there” for me. He is a quality person who treats people the right way. He is one of the nicest, best people I have ever met. To sum up, I highly recommend Jay Simon. He is a special person in my life. I am so glad fate brought us together. I wish you all good luck. Full disclosure: I am a fellow bankruptcy attorney in the NYC area. The reason that I am not posting this review of Jay Simon as a peer endorsement, is that I wanted more anonymity. Jay Simon and I are not friends, though we do say hello to each other. I was in no way asked to write this and Mr. S...imon does not know I intend to post this review. I just want to pass along something positive to others that I don't think would otherwise be known. This is the story: I was at a 341 creditors meeting in the Southern District today and the case trustee, as his meeting was wrapping up, praised Mr. Simon's petition as being "well prepared." I make special note of this as the trustee did not praise any of the over half-dozen other attorney's work, including my own, and one attorney was even reprimanded for doing a very poor job. I was very impressed. In fact, this is the second time I have witnessed a trustee compliment Mr. Simon. About a year or two ago, I heard another trustee, this time in the Eastern District, also praised Mr. Simon's petition work. As a bankruptcy attorney, I attend many creditor's meetings and trustee compliments to attorneys are rare and far between. That I saw compliments paid twice to the same attorney, compelled me to post this review. Even though he is my direct competitor, I just think this occurrence deserves to be publicized in some way and I am sure Mr. Simon, being unassuming, would never mention it and there were not many others in the room at the time. Kudos to you, Mr. Simon.

My bankruptcy went great. It helped to have certified Nicest Guy Ever Jay Simon for my bankruptcy attorney. Jay Simon is one-of-a-kind. I love everything about him. I'll be lucky if I can find a husband like him. He is absolutely amazing in every way. He went above and beyond in so many ways. I fel...t very comfortable with him. I especially loved his words of reassurance throughout. Such an encouraging presence. I was coddled by his patience, helpfulness, caring and respect. He is just the sweetest, most perfect guy ever. He made me feel like I was a princess. Though I have not known him long, he already feels like one of my truest friends. He is a special, super person. He is an incredible bankruptcy attorney and a damn good man. He envisions a better future for me and did all he could to make it so. I am so grateful to have known him and so glad he allowed me to become one of his tribe of clients. He is one of my favorite human beings on Earth. I highly recommend him.
