My Wonderful Bankruptcy Attorney

My bankruptcy went great. It helped to have certified Nicest Guy Ever Jay Simon for my bankruptcy attorney. Jay Simon is one-of-a-kind. I love everything about him. I'll be lucky if I can find a husband like him. He is absolutely amazing in every way. He went above and beyond in so many ways. I fel...t very comfortable with him. I especially loved his words of reassurance throughout. Such an encouraging presence. I was coddled by his patience, helpfulness, caring and respect. He is just the sweetest, most perfect guy ever. He made me feel like I was a princess. Though I have not known him long, he already feels like one of my truest friends. He is a special, super person. He is an incredible bankruptcy attorney and a damn good man. He envisions a better future for me and did all he could to make it so. I am so grateful to have known him and so glad he allowed me to become one of his tribe of clients. He is one of my favorite human beings on Earth. I highly recommend him.

Just Fill In Your Own Positive Adjectives!

Just got my discharge and am through with bankruptcy, so I feel it is time to write a review of my wonderful bankruptcy attorney. We never thank good people enough in this world, so here goes. I love the camaraderie Jay has with his clients. I never expected to feel like I was becoming friends with m...y bankruptcy attorney, but I did. He really got to know me personally and I could tell it was the same way with the other clients that I went with to my creditors meeting. I actually feel like I have made a friend. J is such an encouraging person. He has really watched over me throughout the process. He was very easy to deal with. He put me at ease the moment I walked into his office. He genuinely cared about my situation and offered a lot of worthwhile, thoughtful, personal advice. He made the whole process go as smooth as glass. I could not have found a better bankruptcy attorney. J is just a special person, not just a great bankruptcy lawyer. He did so many extra things that most other bankruptcy attorneys I don’t think do. My mom filed with another attorney last year, so I have a comparison. J was quick to get me in for my initial consultation at an inconvenient time for him, but convenient for me, while mom had to wait two weeks for her first appointment. He spent hours just going over bankruptcy, explaining stuff, before I even made a decision to file, while mom’s first appointment lasted a whopping 20 minutes and she was compelled to leave a deposit. J personally prepared my petition; going right to work then and there, while mom had to give documents to a paralegal, who did the work with a lot of back and forth. J took time and didn’t rush, as he wanted everything to be accurate. He also answered my many questions, calmly, simply, with a lot of knowledge. He peppered the preparation with stories from his experiences that made things interesting and helped me better understand things. After the filing, he sent an 8-page letter telling me about the meeting, instructing me on doing the education course, and other things having to do with bankruptcy. I received the letter in the mail two days after the papers were filed. Mom’s attorney didn’t send her anything for about two weeks and she only got a few sentences telling her when and where the meeting was and that she had to be there. On the day of the meeting, J had us meet with him an hour prior in his office, to review our petitions and discuss what was going to happen and then escorted us right to the meeting room. I loved not having to worry where I was going. Mom had to meet up with an attorney she never met before at the court. When we were through with the meeting, I actually wanted to hug him, but as I am a male, I thought it might be awkward for him and me. J would answer my emails almost immediately and he answers phones himself. Mom’s attorney would take days to respond to phone calls or emails. Jay reminded me, like clockwork, that I needed to do the education course that I was neglecting. The day I got my discharge, J was on the phone letting me know the news. I could hear in his voice that he was happy for me. He then sent a copy of the discharge under a fabulous, informative, full of advice, 18-page, cover letter, which also thanked me for hiring him and wished me good luck. Mom got no such call or letter. Mom only knew her case was discharged when she received the paper in the mail from the court. Last, mom’s attorney charged two and a half times as much as J and wasn’t worth even close to that. J, on the other hand, was worth about five times what I paid him. As you can see, J made this experience easy and painless. J took personal interest in me. I highly recommend J to anyone who wants first-class bankruptcy service. He is just the sweetest, most generous, caring, person I have met in a long time. Thank you for your hard work, your understanding, support, professionalism, compassion, all the extras and, especially, your friendship. - Top

Heart and Service

I would like to recommend bankruptcy attorney Jay Simon. I hired him after reading the reviews here and noting that he had a reputation for providing excellent client service, accessibility, and personal connection. That was exactly what I was looking for. While that is all true, he is so much... more. He really stands out. He has been an answer to my prayers. Jay is one of those human beings that you meet in life, and you only meet a few, who is the total package as a person. To me Jay Simon is a gentleman who happens to be a lawyer and while most lawyers have a bad reputation for looking out for themselves and how much money they can make, Jay is the opposite - his clients come first. I have never met a nicer, kinder, more genuine person. You just look at him, and you smile. In addition, the cost for his unbelievable services is a bargain, as he is worth so much more than what he charged. His work on my case was diligent, to say the very least, and he made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. I was so relaxed working with him. He went out of his way to make things easy for me. I felt supported. Jay goes out of his way to be responsive to his clients. Jay does a great job of keeping the client well informed. Amazing instructions and well-timed phone calls are just the tip of the iceberg. He is a very thoughtful person. When my hearing took place, thanks to Jay, I was ready, and confident. He covers every detail with you and ensures that there will be no surprises. I highly recommend Jay Simon for your bankruptcy needs! I have never had a better service experience in my life. I know he really cared about my bankruptcy going smoothly and being successful and he really cared about me. I am genuinely grateful and fond of Mr. Simon. It has been a gift to have him in my life. I now consider him a friend, not just my bankruptcy attorney. Because of him, I now know that there are still good people out there.

You are loved by so many, and so much, and by no one more than me. –- River Song to the 11th Doctor

Just came back from my creditors meeting. I went with a group of six other clients of Mr. Simon. We all loved him! Everything went so well for all of us and we were all so grateful to him. So different from the other attorneys who did not show up themselves, or spoke rudely to their clients. Mr.... Simon was so nice to all of us. He met with us beforehand in his office, so that we knew what to expect, he reassured us that we had nothing to fear. One attorney, when each of his clients was done with their individual meeting, ordered each of his clients away from the table by snapping, “wait outside.” Doesn’t sound too bad, right, but it was more the way it was said; like a dismissive order. On the other hand, when we were done with our meeting, Mr. Simon warmly took each of our hands in both of his hands and said how well we did and if we wanted to wait, we could meet outside when he was done with the others. We all waited and all of the female clients hugged him. No other attorneys were being hugged. One woman, who said she had bad experiences with attorneys, was even crying tears of joy because she was so relieved and things went so well under his guidance. Jay Simon just has a way of putting clients at ease. As an example, during the preparation of my petition, Mr. Simon realized I was a Doctor Who fan (hence, the above quote). Mr. Simon used conversations about a topic we both liked, Doctor Who, to relax me while we worked on my petition. He also used down to earth examples to explain bankruptcy concepts so that I was able to relate to them. When he explained the bankruptcy stay protecting me from creditors, he used the shields from Star Trek; something I would relate to. (Can you tell I am a sci-fi nerd?) Anyway, Jay is a special person in my life and now has a special place in my heart (again, see the quote above). I just love him. He has one of the most caring hearts. He has incredible empathy when it comes to others. He is just a nice man, a phenomenal person with genuine warmth. You will never meet a better person. In addition, he likes Doctor Who, so you know he cannot be bad!

Attentive and Understanding at the Most Difficult of Times = A Special Person and Bankruptcy Attorney

My review of Jay Simon is going to focus on something other reviewers only mention in passing; that Mr. Simon gives clients amazing personal attention. I first called Jay Simon on the phone. He was very understanding and tolerant of my feeble attempts to explain my situation. He was kind, didn't ...rush me off the phone or push me into making an appointment. He was so easy to talk to. We spoke for about a half hour because of my uncertainty about proceeding. What attorney talks to you for a half hour, imparting information, without even knowing you or getting paid for it???? Anyway, due to my fear, I didn't make an appointment. Instead I said I would think it over and get back to him. I didn't. Instead, I called other attorneys who weren't as nice. I grew discouraged. I then remembered the one shining light I had called: Jay Simon. I called him back. Now, mind you, about 4 months had passed. When we spoke for the second time, Mr. Simon, after a brief reminder, actually remembered our previous conversation and recounted details I told him in the first conversation. So, I scheduled an appointment. When I arrived, I was delighted by his lovely office. I had been expecting a crowded, generic law office or torture chamber (lol). Mr. Simon's office was just so cute, comfortable and relaxing. I also assumed I would be kept waiting before being seen by the attorney. But, as soon as I arrived, I was seen immediately and didn't see any other clients. Mr. Simon then patiently went over my situation and discussed bankruptcy. As this was just my initial consultation, I expected to be shown the door after a certain point. Instead, Mr Simon began preparing my petition. He said I was his whole day and we then spent hours working on the petition. He could have made me come back a second time, missing more time from work, but no, he went about completing the entire petition in one session, in order to convenience me. I went away from the appointment thinking maybe he didn't have many clients if he could devote so much time to one person. He was very supportive and reassuring while preparing the petition. He also sent an extremely detailed instruction letter. About a month later came the date of my creditors meeting. Instead of meeting me at the court, he had me meet him an hour early in his office. I didn't have to worry about finding where I needed to go; Mr. Simon was going to personally escort me to the meeting. Much to my surprise (and happiness, as I was worried about him), there were a number of other clients there who would also be going to court with us. He then spent time reviewing with each of us what was going to happen, what to expect and reviewing our petitions. He could have done this with us as a group to make it easier on himself, but he gave us each individual time. Later, at court a lady attorney covering for another attorney, met with her clients as one big group; no individual acknowledgements or attention for them. After talking to each of us individually, Mr. Simon's voice was almost gone. It was actually nice to have other people to talk while I waited, who were going through the same thing as me. In talking to the others, I came to realize Mr. Simon gives all of his clients special, individual attention. Anyway, to court we all went. At court, he was reassuring and supportive to us all. Other attorneys, until they went up to the meeting desk, you wouldn't know who their clients were, as they had no contact with them in the meeting room. I hope by now you get the picture; Mr. Simon cares about his clients and gives them individual, caring attention. He made me feel special because HE is so special. He is so sweet and good. He truly cares about people. His attention to clients speaks to the person he is. I wish my significant other treated me as well. I highly recommend Jay Simon to anyone thinking of filing bankruptcy.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"I endorse this lawyer. Why? When you have a question, he gives you an answer as if you were across his desk so you understand the law, your options, and the answer to your question. Sometimes on AVVO we see answers to questions that in essence just say to see an attorney which is ok..as that is the ultimate answer. But this attorney will go beyond and try and fully and completely and in my view accurately answer it. Is that not the type of attorney you want? I would hope so and for that reason I endorse him."
