Title: Best Matrimonial Lawyer Out There as in Competence, Brilliance, and Honesty (He Simply Delivers!)

I am forever indebted to Marty for achieving settlement which I thought would never be possible after my former spouse didn’t want to give me divorce, let alone settlement, and, to make my matters worse, my previous and first attorney milked me for a year with false promises and almost dried me up fi...nancially. Thanks to one of my few friends from my marriage who remained my loyal and supportive friend after separation, he convinced me that my former spouse wasn’t going to give me divorce in collaborative divorce proceeding and that I was wasting my money away with my previous attorney. And, it happened that this friend had gone through divorce with his former spouse (who coincidentally was a very good friend of my ex-spouse) who was represented by, of all, Marty, and called me repeatedly to go see Marty and hire him before my former spouse got to him. And, lucky for me, Marty agreed to represent me. The fact that Marty being an adversary in my friend’s divorce proceeding and was singly and highly recommended to me over all other attorneys, and my friend knew many of them, speaks for itself as to Marty’s impeccable credentials in the matrimonial profession. Marty is a no-nonsense, always-prepared, and masterful matrimonial attorney from the get-go, i.e., from the day I signed the retainer. His specialty is matrimonial law and that is what he charges his time to you for, not other non-legal, mumbo jumbo expenses as my previous collaborative attorney did. Marty is no doubt, and to no surprise, a very busy attorney but he surely makes you his “only” priority when he is on your payroll time. In the Courthouse and its hallways, I could always see how well-respected he is by the Judge and his colleague attorneys, respectively. He was always prepared before the Judge and his understanding and articulation of the New York State matrimonial law in furthering my cause was always masterful that it made my former spouse’s attorney look like a rookie. And thanks to Marty, I got close to 50% child custody of our 2 young kids, not to mention unexpected but windfall financial settlement. I am finally able to be the best father, and a very happy one, that I can be to my 2 precious kids (no more of kids taken away against my will by their mother for weeks at a time on Holidays as were always the case in marriage). I can’t say enough of Marty for his utmost competence as divorce attorney. While I would never wish upon anyone, especially those with kids, to go through what I went through, at times, divorce may be the only option for happiness of all as was in my case. I have had a dozen or so friends or work colleagues that came to me over the past 2 years for a referral and without any hesitation I have always given Marty’s contact info. It is no surprise to me that Marty was voted by his own peers as one of the best lawyers in the 2008 Edition of The Best Lawyers in America. I would simply end my review by saying “go see Marty and hire him before your spouse gets to him.” All the Best as Everyone Deserves Happiness.

Business Owner

Martin is a proven veteran and has a very strong sense of ethics within his field. I would say the main challenge was finding a mutual way of communicating, once that was achieved we worked well together. Martin does not "adopt you" as a client, and this is not for everyone. My divorce was a persona...l journey that was mine alone - if you want someone to coddle you and not allow you to do your own personal work look for someone else to represent you. In court he is a champion!

Best Matrimonial Lawyer!!!!

I used Marty Johnson in my divorce proceedings a few years ago. I was originally working with another lawyer and when I spoke with Marty he immediately saw loopholes and loose ends in the initial discussions with my ex's attorney that my original attorney had overlooked. Marty was smart, quick and ...truly understood my needs and eased any anxiety I had. He was in constant contact with me and his door was always open. As busy as he is I always felt like my case was important and a priority. In the end, Marty made sure that I got the most important thing to me through the whole nasty time....my son. He made sure that we were taken care of and that my son got EVERYTHING he needs, now and well into the future. Words cannot express my gratitude for his hard work.

Best and most knowledgeable attorney and law firm I have dealt with!

I have previously had various other attorney's with whom I wasn't that satisfied. Then a friend of mine recommended me to Marty Johnson. Mr. Johnson is regarded to be THE top and best attorney in the divorce field. I was glad that Mr. Johnson accepted my case. Mr. Johnson and his associate handled... my case in the most professional, respectful and honest matter with the best outcome I have imagined. They're the most knowledgeble and smartest attorney's I have seen. All I can say is I will forever be greatful to them!

Best Matrimonial Lawyer You Can Get

I ran the names of some attorneys I knew in this website. When it came to Mr. Johnson, I was surprised to see a bad review with respect to him and his firm. Two things came immediately to my mind. First, the person had the wrong Johnson or perhaps (and more probable) a spouse of one his clients up...set with Mr. Johnson’s services decided to be vindictive. So, let me set the record straight. Mr. Johnson is one of the best matrimonial attorneys you can get. He handled my divorce and child custody matters for me, including a long trial and lengthy appeal instigated by former spouse. He is brilliant, honest and kind. I would have given many up my rights (and would probably have ruined my life and my daughter’s life), if I did not listen to him when I was being persuade to enter into a settlement in my divorce. Mr. Johnson tells it how it is and will not waste your time or money. And if the Judge is wrong, he is not afraid of engaging in a discussion to protect your rights. My spouse ended up using more than 10 attorneys to come at me from every possible angle and make up all kind of ridiculous accusations. I had only one attorney—the best: Mr. Johnson. Caveat: Going through a divorce or a child custody proceeding is not easy, and (borrowing from an old Rolling Stones song) I can tell you that you don’t always get what you want, but with Mr. Johnson, you will get what you need.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I have worked on a number of cases with Mr. Johnson as opposing counsel. He is a tough litigator and impressive negotiator with a courtroom presence and signature style that has earned him the respect of the bench and bar. He remains one of the most experienced divorce lawyers working in New York State and brings a wealth of experience to his cases. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone seeking a smart, skilled and ethical attorney in a complex family law matter."
