Ken Eiges did ONE thing for me: He took my money.

Ineffective, wet noodle, did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for me. I am 100% positive I could've gotten a better deal without him. He didn't advocate for me, didn't fight for me, didn't counsel me. Ken was representing me in a child support case, where I was paying an inflated amount that I couldn't afford.... The corp counsel made him an offer, which he "arbitrated" a whopping 10% off of! He came out of the meeting, not defending me, his client, but telling me that the corp counsel thought I was a "bad person"! If I were defending him, I would have fought back with a similar accusation towards the mother. Ken did NOTHING for me. After we settled for this outrageous inflated sum, he neglected to tell me that I could appeal it! Did not even mention this fact. I found out much later from a free legal clinic, but it was too late to appeal. To make matters worse, after seeing how unhappy I was, he left me with "call me when he (your son) turns 18". When I contacted him recently, he asked for a HUGE retainer, 3x as big as the first one. Lazy, useless, the kind of lawyer that gives lawyers' a bad name.

While we never want anyone to be unhappy with our service, and we strive to deliver impeccable representation, it should be shared here that where a case involves a special needs child, some amount of support must be paid. Having taken hundreds of cases to trial, going to trial would have been an option, however an amount was negotiated which was less than the client was supposed to pay. Presented with the negotiation the client’s choice was to agree, without any pressure beyond the understanding that a lost trial could result in higher support payments. While we are sorry to hear of this displeasure, we also want to clear the air on the circumstances surrounding this scenario.

This solely my opinion. My Eiges is wonderful person and lawyer. He did everything in his power to complete my case with the sole purpose of saving me as much money as possible and making sure I would be happy with the outcome. There was a day I was really upset and Mr Eiges bought my mother and I co...ffee and didn't charge me for it on my bill, nor did he charge me for the extra time spent drinking the coffee and discussing my case. He is a lawyer that cares about his clients and knows the limits of what the law allows. I'm glad I had him on my side (even though I was always angry, and upset, and yelling all the time). And, although he does need a reminder from time to time, I would obtain his services again. FOR THE MEN - Be prepared, the Family court and Supreme court system are usually on the mother's side. If you can not prove she's crazy, a danger to the kids and her self or depressed, you've lost. Doesn't matter who your lawyer is. Mr Eiges will help you finish the case as fast as possible and will try his best to stay with in budget. My case was almost 2 years. I know it's hard (Trust me I know), but, kids grow up (It took me 2 years to realize that). Be the best dad you can be. Don't be a dead beat. As they grow, enforce it in their minds that you will always be there for them and that you are only a phone call away. Paying child support and living expenses will become difficult, but, you can get a divorce without having to pay you ex every 3 years (Mr. Eiges did everything in his power for this to happen). I gave up a few freedoms, but, it will be well worth it in the long run and my boys know who I am and how much I love me. TIP: Best advice I can give. Try to avoid taking it to trial. Huge savings if you can. Roughly $15K-$30K. Stay in family court. Finish it fast and move on.

I regret having to post a negative review

This review of Mr. Eiges’s professional services, solicited by him with a letter dated 11/23/2015, is solely my personal opinion. It accounts for my experience only, and might not be representative of the typical level of service provided by Mr. Eiges to other clients. I am very dissatisfied with... the services provided to me by Mr. Eiges. I can not recommend him and, in retrospect, I wish I had sought legal representation elsewhere. Should legal needs arise again, I will make sure I won't ever hire him again. I feel he did not represent my interests adequately. I felt that my adversary was represented better and more aggressively. In my opinion, Mr. Eiges was too eager to meet my adversary’s demands than to protect my interests. I felt that he was distracted, had little interest in my case, had insufficient attention to detail, poor or no note-taking and bad memory for case details. I felt I was left alone taking all the strategic decisions, despite having no experience. I found him difficult to reach, and his communications late and rushed. He was far less attentive to deadlines and time-sensitive matters than I wanted him to be. I urged him numerous times to improve his performance, to no avail. I also find inexcusable that he failed to keep me abreast of the case's developments, especially its conclusion, despite calls and requests. Eventually I had to hire an independent party to retrieve the status of my proceedings. In my view, Mr. Eiges's behavior caused me unnecessary frustration and anxiety at the time of my life in which I was the most vulnerable. Otherwise, he is honest and balanced, and he has always been polite and courteous with me. The staff he employs seems qualified, efficient, compassionate and caring. I loved every interaction with them and I regret having to report negatively on their employer.

I want to thank my client for commenting on my honesty and the quality of my staff. Obviously I did not perform to his satisfaction which I do regret. I respect my client’s opinion but I want to comment on how his case was handled. My adversary on this case is a colleague and friend of mine. We both have been in this field for a long time. Our aim was not to get the advantage, but to work out an amicable settlement in order to save our clients needless legal fees and emotional distress. My client had a strong case but the legal fees that he would have had to pay me to win would have far exceeded the minimal amount of money he had to pay to settle the case and the extraordinary amount of money he would have had to pay if he lost the case. Many attorneys would encourage litigation in this case, which would work to the advantage of the attorney and not the client. . It’s difficult to tell a client that the client is right, but it would be better to settle a case. I rather lose the battle and win the war. That’s how an honest and experienced lawyer represents a client effectively.

Mr. Eiges is the best!

When I had to file for my divorce I didn't know where to start. Thankfully I met Mr. Eiges and from that moment on everything was handled better than I could have imagined. This firm was not only professional with my case but they assured me everything was going to be ok and it was. No divorce is eas...y but I must admit Mr. Eiges made it seem just that. I highly recommend him specially for women with children.

Satisfied client

I first retained Eiges & Eiges in 1982 to help me obtain my permanent residence. I came to this country without a dollar in my pocket. I worked as a housekeeper and Linda Eiges filed my papers for residence. After I received by Green Card I went to school and became a registered nurse. During the... last 30 years I have used Eiges & Eiges for a number of legal issues. I have also sent a lot of my friends to their office. I as well as the people I sent to Eiges & Eiges were very happy with their services. Although I have never been divorced, friends who were getting divorced used the services of Kenneth Eiges and were very happy with his representation. Kenneth and Linda Eiges are kind, caring and very good lawyers.
