Thanks to Robert Berkowitz, I recently received a settlement for a personal injury case that he was working on for me. I was very happy with the settlement I received and I am extremely satisfied with the way Mr. Berkowitz handled my case from my first appointment with him up until I received my se...

Mr. Berkowitz was direct, honest, responsive, and handled my case professionally. He gave me the good, the bad, and the ugly. He responded to my calls, he managed my expectations, and he did what he was suppossed to do. He was no nonsense, full of practical common sense, knew the law, was aggre...

A friend recommended that I speak to Robert after a slip and fall in a supermarket. Robert immediately took my call and was there for me until the very end. He was diligent in his follow ups and was knowledgeable regarding the injuries that I suffered. In the end, he got me a nice settlement which is...

As a civil attorney, he is very pessimistic but perhaps it is due in part to his shady intentions. I would not recommend any one who has a valid case to pursue litigation with or through him. The judge we appeared before seemed insulted by his inflated ego, arrogance and disregard for superiority w...
I am saddened to learn of a negative review that has been posted about me. It is difficult to respond to an anonymous review as I cannot determine who the alleged former client is or the circumstances of the particular action. I will, however, respond to the general allegations that were made. Firstly, as for being “pessimistic”, in my 19 years of practice I have learned to give clients a factual “brass tacks” assessment of their claim. Too many lawyers tell clients what they want to hear or make promises that they cannot keep. I refuse to do that. It is not pessimism which guides my assessment of cases, it is my knowledge of the law and 19 years experience in prosecuting personal injury actions. Some clients do not react well to my direct approach and are upset to learn that their “Million Dollar Case” is not worth a Million Dollars. Personal injury practice is not a lottery and realistic expectations are necessary for the successful outcome of a case. Secondly, I am especially disturbed as to the claim of having “shady intentions” and not being trustworthy. Such a claim without an explanation or example is nothing more than an unfounded personal attack. All of my clients are referrals from other attorneys or word of mouth recommendations from former clients as I do not presently advertise. I would not be able to maintain my practice if other members of the bar, or my former clients, found me to be shady or otherwise untrustworthy. Furthermore, it is my ethical obligation to zealously represent my clients. I have been called aggressive and forceful. As a former Marine Corp Officer, I am not easily intimidated. I have, at times, argued with opposing counsel and even judges. Sometimes that is my job and necessary for the successful resolution of a case. You should ask yourself do I want a lawyer who will fight for me or one who will withdraw when confronted. Practicing in such a manner should not be confused with either arrogance or ego. I always respect the rulings of the court, but I may not always agree with them. Sometimes even judges make mistakes. This is why we have appellate courts. It is also important to remember it is part of my job to convince the other side that they are wrong and you are right. This is a task that is not always easily accomplished. I am selective in the cases that I take so that I can personally handle my cases. As a result, I am very busy. I have a policy to try to return clients’ calls within 24 hours. Sometimes I cannot. If the reviewer felt I was in some way not responsive and voiced such a concern, I will have taken steps to insure that person received updates on their case. Finally, I do have ambition. It is my ambition to ethically and zealously represent my clients and achieve the best possible outcome. Interestingly, even this negative reviewer found me to be knowledgeable giving me a 4 star rating. I have represented hundreds of people over my 19 years of practice. I do not want even a single unhappy client and take all measures to ensure your case is properly prosecuted. If you do have a potential personal injury matter I suggest that you speak to me directly before making any choice of attorney. Form your own opinion.
"Robert Berkowitz's many years of civil litigation experience and dedication to his work are what separates him from his peers. He is willing to take the tough cases that other attorneys shy away from, earning him a reputation as a lawyer that will fight for his clients rights."
"I endorse this lawyer. Robert Berkowitz is one of the most talented personal injury lawyers I have worked with. He has an amazing grasp of the law. He is concientious and extremely focused on his work."
