Joseph William Carbonaro

I was referred to Mr. Carbonaro by a very well known and regarded attorney I have a personal acquaintance with who had a conflict of interest with a pre-existing contractual relationship with the other party involved in my dispute. Briefly, I was employed for approximately twenty years as a contrac...tor with a company, who fell upon hard times. They initially extended the period between invoice submission and payment, then developed a trend of late payments. Next, I agreed to a reduction in compensation to assist the company as it struggled with emerging into a new media market. Late pays became no pays, and excuse upon excuse became insulation through employees or incommunicado as a modus operandi when past due payments were at issue. Hopeful to maintain the relationship which had extended approximately two decades, I was compassionate about the financial struggles claimed (learning of other contractors also being subjected to the same experiences) until such time that I had essentially worked without compensation for two years and was nearly spent out of my savings. Mr. Carbonaro discussed my complaints, and provided a well-explained course of action and possible results during the pro bono consultation. I retained Mr. Carbonaro who allowed me a fixed fee if the issue was dealt with out of court. It was, thanks to the diligence and persistence of Mr. Carbonaro as he faced the same evasions and delays I had described. After a "red-line" date was crossed, we communicated our intent to litigate, which lo and behold, resulted in a settlement. Of course, I allowed a reduced amount of about 25% to expedite the decision, and it still went to the last possible date, through no fault of Mr. Carbonaro. Despite an unnecessary excess of communications with the offending party, Mr. Carbonaro held to his agreed fixed rate without complaint. During the process, he was the voice of reason; yet, personable. He acknowledged my frustrations when I vented them, and maintained a steady stream of communication and near immediate response. I would highly recommend Mr. Carbonaro based upon my direct experiences with him, dealing with a non-compliant and avoidant opposing party, with the right blend of directness, patience, and humanity.
