My city Union hired Mr Washington when my city employer wanted to fire me from my job. I went to trial and was terminated. Mr Washington did well in defending me but was ineffective and dishonest in that he purposely appealed my case in the wrong court. Instead of appealing my case with the EEOC ( a ...federal agency ) which I would have stood a greater chance to win my job back , Washington went the grievance route and appealed my case with the commission of appeals which doesnt favor the employee but only the city employer. Mr Washington even discouraged the thought of me appealing with the EEOC and said that I would have to prove that I was being discriminated by my employer. he also assured me that everything would be ok and I would get my job back. my fault was that I was ignorant of the law and didn't do any resource or ask for different opinions from other lawyers. I was sure that Richard would be honest with my case. I was wrong. After waiting 9 months and only after losing my appeal case with commission of appeals in NYC , only then I found out that the best route was with the EEOC from other lawyers but I couldn't appeal now because the statue of limits was 150 days only from the time I got fired from my job to file and mr Washington made sure that I didn't go this route. Mr Washington only cared about getting his money from my Union and didn't want to go all the way to defend me which he was supposed to do. he made sure that I waited 9 months to wait for appeals court while my chance to appeal through the EEOC passed away for good which sealed my fate in ever getting my job back. if your a city employee and was wrongfully fired and need to appeal, don't waste your time with Mr Washington if he isn't willing or discouraging you from filing an appeal with the federal gov ( EEOC ) . even other Lawyers whom I spoke with afterwards were surprised and shocked and said that a good lawyer would first file an appeal wth the EEOC right away instead of going tthrough the wrong courts that mr Washington did . I wouldn't ever recommend this lawyer to anyone and hope that he burns in hell for his willful inability to defend me when he was supposed to. Shame on you Mr Washington . I'll be seeing you in god's court on judgment day.!!!!! Because of your legal malpractice , I can never appeal to get my job back. horrible lawyer!
