A true expert and a good man -- exactly who I needed to help with my divorce.

I interviewed several family law attorneys before I met Mr Moloughney. I knew immediately that he was exceptional, and after more than 15 months of working together I appreciate him even more. Thanks to him, my divorce and custody dispute have been a transition instead of a tragedy. Other attorne...ys told me about typical divorce results and were immediately ready to begin litigation on my behalf. Jim listened to my story and helped me visualize a range of possible outcomes that seemed not merely survivable but truly livable. He was the only attorney who was ready with a whole range of responses and actions, of graduated intensity, carefully considered to minimize conflict and retain every possible option for a fair and reasonable settlement. Jim always worked for a quick and humane settlement of my case -- even when this meant fewer billable hours for him. Jim was never unprepared to seize an advantage but he never inflamed tempers either. He educated me when I was ignorant, calmed me when I was enraged, and eased my fears when I was anxious. Jim has helped me avoid becoming a victim of my own inevitable anger and bitterness. If I had acted on my own impulses I would have damaged my own case many times. Jim was always prompt to share expert advice which was always thoughtful and compassionate while at the same time being ruthlessly practical. I am not an expert in family law but I've worked with geniuses and pretenders alike in many other fields -- I swiftly recognized that Jim's expertise was profound. He has an intimate familiarity with the people and institutions concerned with family law in my county. He knows the way things are supposed to work, and they way they often work in real life. I was always well-informed about matters of law as well as the practical considerations involved in each stage of my divorce. Jim's basic professional talents and values are impeccable: fast, clear communication; reading comprehension skills which I found frankly astonishing; perfect organization; excellent command of a wide range of modern communication technologies. Jim dedicated himself not just to resolving my divorce, but to ensuring that I would have a good life to live on the other side of it. He was a teacher as much as an attorney to me, and I'm absolutely convinced that my life post-divorce will always be much better than it could ever have been without his help.

Outstanding attorney every step of the way.

I would highly recommend James Moloughney to all my friends and family. He is experienced, professional and personable. He is ethical and extremely thorough. James coached and guided me through a difficult time. He really cares about his clients and goes the extra mile to make sure no details are ...left undone. Divorces are very emotional and delicate. If you are looking for an attorney who you can trust and depend on, James Moloughney is the one for you.

Client review for Jim Moloughney

Jim Moloughney was my lawyer recently. As a customer here are my ratings: Knowledge - B Application of that knowledge to my case - D Responsiveness - C Fees - excessive - F (after having been granted a judgment of divorce, we had a judge's oeder to get things finalized within 2 weeks. Jim didn'...t move on that at all. Nothing - I called and emailed repeatedly and heard nothing - crickets) Four months later and many tens of thousands of dollars later, case was finalized. Disgraceful behavior, poor customer focus. Numerous errors and omissions with legal documents as well. Worth what paid for - F Likelihood to recommend - F (zero O chance I would recommend) And if you have an issue with Jim /or the DiFrancesco , Bateman law firm, beware. I was frustrsted with the lack of progress on my case, disucssed it with Jim, got nowhere, so took it to a partner at the firm. No response. Pathetic behavior.

Hence the saying "No good deed goes unpunished". I hesitate to respond to this because he seeks to continue arguing. Unfortunate that this "gentleman" resorts to this tactic because there is no truth to what he says. He was extremely high maintenance, (An email turns out to be as many as 10 or 19, in one day) yet complained about being billed for time spent on his case. He misunderstands things and then states them as fact (ie: his reference above.) He constantly undermined his own case because everyone else was inept. Blames everyone else, instead of the one he should be looking at. Only 2nd client in 32 years that I asked court to be relieved from. Lack of progress was solely due to fact that he and wife could not agree on anything, yet he constantly questioned why there was no settlement agreement. As a result, they had to go through court process, which apparently is my fault? The Judge put on record that he was very familiar with all that had transpired in this case and that he considered my actions to be "nothing short of heroic". Because he has been forced to pay his bill, many months later, he now tries to besmirch my reputation by filing a baseless and malicious statement online. Have explained things to him many, many times, but obviously a waste of time. He cannot see when someone is trying to help him, and remains his own worst enemy. I will not reply to him any further. Hopefully he can concentrate on productively rebuilding the relationships in his life. AVVO should have a way of eliminating this nonsense!
