A true expert and a good man -- exactly who I needed to help with my divorce.
I interviewed several family law attorneys before I met Mr Moloughney. I knew immediately that he was exceptional, and after more than 15 months of working together I appreciate him even more. Thanks to him, my divorce and custody dispute have been a transition instead of a tragedy. Other attorne...

Client review for Jim Moloughney
Jim Moloughney was my lawyer recently. As a customer here are my ratings: Knowledge - B Application of that knowledge to my case - D Responsiveness - C Fees - excessive - F (after having been granted a judgment of divorce, we had a judge's oeder to get things finalized within 2 weeks. Jim didn'...
Hence the saying "No good deed goes unpunished". I hesitate to respond to this because he seeks to continue arguing. Unfortunate that this "gentleman" resorts to this tactic because there is no truth to what he says. He was extremely high maintenance, (An email turns out to be as many as 10 or 19, in one day) yet complained about being billed for time spent on his case. He misunderstands things and then states them as fact (ie: his reference above.) He constantly undermined his own case because everyone else was inept. Blames everyone else, instead of the one he should be looking at. Only 2nd client in 32 years that I asked court to be relieved from. Lack of progress was solely due to fact that he and wife could not agree on anything, yet he constantly questioned why there was no settlement agreement. As a result, they had to go through court process, which apparently is my fault? The Judge put on record that he was very familiar with all that had transpired in this case and that he considered my actions to be "nothing short of heroic". Because he has been forced to pay his bill, many months later, he now tries to besmirch my reputation by filing a baseless and malicious statement online. Have explained things to him many, many times, but obviously a waste of time. He cannot see when someone is trying to help him, and remains his own worst enemy. I will not reply to him any further. Hopefully he can concentrate on productively rebuilding the relationships in his life. AVVO should have a way of eliminating this nonsense!
"I have had several contested matters with Jim and I have used him as a mediator on numerous occasions. He is always prepared and has a vast knowledge of family law. i highly recommend him."
"I endorse this lawyer. Jim has been a mediator in numerous cases of mine and my office. Every time we either settled the entire case or most of the substantive portions of it. His friendly demeanor makes him a pleasure to work with and I do not hesitate to recommend him to anyone."
"I endorse this lawyer. Jim is highly experienced and well liked in the legal community. He cares about his clients and combines talent with a practical approach to problem solving. I refer cases to him which is the highest compliment I can pay another lawyer."
