Divorce is never easy. I have not only witnessed the tribulations from friends/family, but I have experienced them personally (parents divorced when I was in college). As a young newlywed who encountered issues beyond reconciliation, I realized that I needed to find an attorney that would not only g...ive legal advice, but personal advice as well. This task in itself is seemingly difficult; after all, many people feel attorneys are salesman at first glance because they try hard to retain your business. After our initial consultation (actually, DURING), I knew Sam was going to be my attorney...he pulled no punches, spoke to me on a level that he zoned in on quite well (didn't speak down to me as though I was an incompetent and didn't speak to me in complete 'legalese'), and constantly kept me informed on every single issue. Knowing (and perhaps more importantly, caring) that I was struggling emotionally with the process, he would frequently call and email to ask how I was holding up. He would call or email prior to sending an email from the opposing counsel that he anticipated might put a damper on my day.
