Mark Daniel Sherman

I hired Mark Sherman after receiving a notice in the mail that my 17-year old son's license was suspended because we paid a cell-phone use ticket by mailing in payment. Westport officer who issued ticket didn't tell my son doing so would result in suspension. Mark got the ticket reversed and suspen...sion overturned without my son having to step foot in court. I hired Mark and his associates to represent my 19 y/o daughter, who was essentially arrested and issued a misdemeanor citation up in Clinton, CT for a suspended registration while driving my recently deceased mother's car. My mom passed away last December and I took over her car for my kids to driv...e. While in the ridiculous process of retitling and registering a NY plate to a CT plate, the DMV in NY suspended the registration and we were never notified. My daughter was pulled over by a 20 y/o rookie cop for no apparent reason. When she asked why she was being pulled over, the cop said, "your Registration is suspended", started to walk away from the window, then turned around, came back and said, "and, oh yeah, you ran a yellow light". My daughter called me sobbing as she had never been pulled over before and had done nothing wrong. I asked her to put the officer on the phone so I could plead with him to be easy on her because this was not her fault and his answer to me was, "Ma'am, I have 20 more years on the job and I'm not going to jeapordize my career because your daughter failed to follow the law." He proceeded to put her in a tow truck with a stranger who had to drive her and the car 2 hrs back to our house after stopping at the ATM so my daughter could pay him $400 CASH. By the time the cop got back to the station, his story changed of course and now my daughter had run a RED light. The truth is, he ran her plate because it was from NY and pulled her over. He wrote her for 4 separate infractions, including driving an uninsured and unregistered vehicle, a misdemeanor. I called Mark Sherman to handle the case for us and upon our first court appearance, he sent one of his female associates, who was, not only so professional, but handled my daughter with such care and kindness. The attorney explained everything completely and set expectations, so that we felt completely at ease. Our second and last appearance was yesterday and another associate attorney from Mark's office appeared for my daughter. Again, he was extremely professional and very nice. By the time we arrived at the courthouse he had gotten the whole case nolleyed by the prosecutor with no fines and told us that the whole case would be expunged from her record. If you need a criminal attorney, I highly recommend that you call Mark. From the first time I called him, our case was handled quickly, and with a no-nonsense attitude. There was no hourly billing, so no incentive to drag the case on. He was fair and completely delivered on his promise... which was refreshing and reassuring. I was particularly impressed with his choice in hires for the associate attorneys in is office, which tells me a great deal about how he runs his business. I've never had to hire a criminal attorney before and hope I never need one again, but if you are in CT and need criminal representation, call Mark Sherman.

I called Mr. Sherman for a consultation the day before a court appearance. Even on short notice, I was able to meet with him the same day. After hearing a summary of my case, he offered his advice for the court date, and his advice proved to be exactly correct. The charges (which were false) were ...dismissed. Mr. Sherman was extremely professional, courteous, helpful, and, most important, correct, and all the same day I called for assistance.
