Successful Global Entry Appeal

I am pleased to recommend The Law Offices of Mark Sherman for Global Entry denial appeals. My appeal was successful and I now enjoy Global Entry membership. I live in Texas and working closely with the Connecticut team to prepare the appeal was easy and problem-free. It was obvious from the outse...t that my appeal was not “their first rodeo,” and they were able to develop a clear, concise narrative that laid out the facts, and soundly argued for granting Global Entry status. While most appeals take about six to nine months to receive a ruling from the ombudsman, my appeal took closer to one year, but Mark’s team did carefully follow my case to be certain it did not “fall in a bureaucratic crack.” I am very glad I went to The Law Offices of Mark Sherman for my appeal. Highly recommended.

Helped me clear name against false Newtown rape accusations & DCF appeal

I was being accused of sexually assaulting a member of my family in Newtown Connecticut. i had DCF and special victims detectives all over me, and i knew i was innocent. I found Mark on the internet and read on his website how to protect myself against false claims like this. i called him and met... him for a meeting. i then hired him to assist me through a newtown police department investigation and he helped me shut down the DCF case. when I was cleared by Newtown PD, DCF still found me guilty so we appealed--it took several months, we had to subpoena the cops and other witnesses, but ultimately we won and my name was finally cleared. DCF reversed their findings and everything was dismissed. thanks to Mark and his team of criminal lawyers.

Mistake not to hire Mark (LSD case)

If you asked me to imagine the ideal attorney, I would picture Mark Sherman. Mark worked with my family and me for a year and in that entire time, I can't imagine how he would have done a better job. In 2014, I was suspended from Yale and subsequently arrested by the local police department for d...rug charges related to use, possession, and distribution of marijuana and LSD. Before ever contacting Mark, I had been pressured by various authorities to speak and give a full confession to the university and the police. So when my family hired Mark, he faced a tough challenge: defending a client who had already admitted guilt. Still, Mark got to work immediately. He began by explaining to my family and me in clear, simple terms the nature of the charges I was facing, the maximum possible penalty (more than a decade in prison) and, most importantly, his honest assessment of how he thought the case would turn out. Remarkably, his prediction proved accurate; he told my family we could expect to plea the felony charges down to misdemeanors or have them dismissed altogether, and the latter ended up happening. A few things stick out in how he handled my case. The most obvious aspect is his work ethic: Mark never settled for “on time,” choosing instead to do things as far in advance as possible to secure the best outcome. When I lost track of approaching deadlines, he would send me gentle reminders. Few professionals could parallel his responsiveness either. For the more than a year my family and I spent fretting over my future, Mark almost always immediately responded to our late night questions and worries. He never took more than 12 hours to get back to me, day or night, weekday or weekend, work hours or after; if he couldn’t respond immediately, he’d send a text letting me know. He was always reachable by phone, text, or email. Finally, Mark’s compassion sets him apart. He always knew how I felt, what my parents’ concerns were, and how to deal with them honestly and supportively. He never made me feel silly for anything I said or felt and kept my family’s spirits afloat with his infectious optimism. The only criticism I could possibly muster for him deals with my Yale case. The university suspended me for 3 semesters and gave me probation until I graduate, while punishing my co-conspirators with mere probation. With Mark’s help, we filed an appeal, hopeful that we could get the punishment reduced to 1 semester or eliminated altogether. Unfortunately, Yale only eliminated the probation element of my punishment. Still, that means I can serve as a leader on campus organizations and I won’t be suspended for a silly infraction, which wouldn’t be true if I were still on probation. But this criticism would be unfair, for it fails to acknowledge Mark’s greatest strength of all: giving you straight talk. The outcome we had wasn’t perfect, but Mark never promised perfection. He was very clear in explaining to us that the odds of a favorable outcome were fairly low – maybe about 30% - and that they would likely be modest. He walked us through all the important factors in making the decision to go ahead with the appeal, remaining honest about our odds every step of the way. And his performance in this realm was excellent as well. Mark has a knack for playing both the legal and political angles that are so often intertwined in the criminal justice and other systems. Through his superb grasp of the law and human psychology, he was able to get me a seat in front of an appeals committee when I think almost anyone in my position without his expertise and guidance would have had the door slammed on their face. Hiring a defense attorney, particularly one of Mark’s caliber, may seem expensive, but there is no price too high to pay for freedom. And when it comes to preserving your freedom, Mark is worth every penny.

Best Global Entry Appeal Lwyer

Mark and his associates did a great job with my fairly complex appeal. He carefully reviewed the case, considered my unique situation and accurately predicted the outcome and time frame. Additionally, he was able to give me an all-in cost estimate and deliver without any adjustments or "extras". I wo...rk with lawyers every day in my business and only wish more of them were as competent and trustworthy.
