I hired Joseph Depaola to handle my divorce. What a mistake. He didn't listen that ALL I wanted was to keep my home and it in my business. There was a pretrial offer allowing me to stay in my home. I WAS ALL FOR IT. He said no, we could do better - he meant HE COULD GET MORE MONEY out of me if i...t went to trial. It did and I LOST EVERYTHING, MY HOME, MY BUSINESS, MY FAMILY, EVEN MY CAT. He was MORE THAN Greedy wanting to fo after my 401K after he depleted my bank account. I am on disability and got only enough money to buy a tiny house. He did NOT keep my best interest in mind. I would have been better off not having an attorney. RUN, DON'T CONSULT WITH JOE.

Prior to going to hospital for somewhat major surgery, I decided to be a grown up and get my affairs in order. Having had a positive experience working with him at my workplace, I decided to reach out to Attorney DePoala. He returned my call personally within 24 hours, and treated me like a very imp...ortant client, despite my legal need being simple (POA/HCA and will). I was able to make an appointment for same week. Attorney Depoala sat with me and spent unhurried time getting all of my intentions clear. If you would like to work with a professional, approabe (both personally and price point), and kind lawyer, look no further, you have your man.

This lawyer failed to abide by on-line statement of free initial consultation. Instead I was charged full fee. I was concerned when noting how excessively disorganized his office and desk were and with good reason. After spending considerable time completing a financial affidavit together, the att...orney failed to forward it to the opposing attorney> other financial information provided were also not forwarded leading to a complaint being filed by the other attorney. When informed that I was planning to terminate with him, I was given a bill of approximately $1950 for 3 email correspondences with the other attorney (given that the initial meeting was supposed to be free). After threatening to file a complaint, this attorney initiated bargaining with me for a fee. In the end he did not even honor that agreed prices and instead issued a refund check over $100 less than promised. There was nothing he did that would be considered good service or professional in any way. He is clearly not interested in his clients, rather his wallet. I would definitely go elsewhere if you want to be well represented.
