Andrew Garza’s journey from public-housing roots in Groton to co-founder of Claggett, Sykes & Garza, LLC embodies determination and purpose. While balancing hospitality jobs to fund his education, he witnessed firsthand the struggles of people up against insidious insurance practices. That experience fuels his commitment to personal injury law, and in 2022 he delivered a record-setting $100 million verdict—the highest bodily injury award ever in Connecticut. A respected teacher as well as a trial lawyer, Andrew shares his comprehensive experience and legal acumen at the Keenan Trial Institute, where he earned the 2022 Trial Lawyer of the Year award. When he’s not arguing in court or mentoring the next generation, he’s either hosting celebratory get-togethers or applying his creativity to designing and building custom furniture in his home workshop.
