Health benefits

After trying for weeks to resolve a problem with health insurance with my current employer. I was being stonewalled and ignored , that's when I contacted attorney Havens. She quickly and efficiently negotiated an agreement. I would highly recommend Jill Havens.

Unemployment Insurance Appeal

Several months after filing for unemployment I received a notice from the MA Department of Unemployment Insurance telling me I had been disqualified and owed them several thousands of dollars. From what I had understood of the system, I was quite certain that this disqualification was found at fault.... I immediately sent in an appeal and then realized I should probably find legal assistance to defend my case. I had never been to a hearing before and had no idea what to expect or how to prepare myself. I came across Jill's website and from her background I was pretty positive I had found the right person to help me. I wrote an email stating my situation and was relieved to hear back from her immediately! Jill and I spoke on the phone and she helped me get an idea of what information and documentation I should start to gather before our scheduled appointment for a consult. My appeal was in two weeks and time was of the essence! During our consult, Jill told me what documents I should fax in as exhibits to defend my case. She helped paint a picture of the hearing procedures and aided me in preparation for how to address questions she anticipated I would be asked. I never felt like she was watching the clock, as she was very patient with answering all of the questions I asked her. At the end of our consult I asked if Jill felt that I should have her attend the hearing with me. She explained to me why she didn't feel this was necessary and gave me a bit of a pep-talk and wished me well. I was impressed by this. It shows how honorable Jill is. She could have easily told me that I should hire her to attend the hearing and she would have made more money. The final result of my hearing was that the Department of Unemployment Insurance reversed their determination. I did not owe them any money. In fact, I got money! I am very glad that I consulted with Jill before I went to my appeal hearing. I knew that the DUA's original determination was wrong, but I wouldn't have known how to represent my case in order to get them to reverse it without such outstanding guidance. Jill is attentive, well spoken, reliable and of course extremely knowledgable. I am very grateful for the work that she did with me.

Effective, thorough, practical, inexpensive, a lawyer who works for you.

I met with six different lawyers and law firms to represent me in an employment law action. Many were excellent lawyers, but the hourly rates would have eaten up almost of the payment. From our first meeting, she demonstrated her in-depth knowledge of employment law, and even when I had very little l...everage, she was able to deliver strong arguments and have the right balance of strength and compromise to get to a good outcome.

Jill Havens was everything I could have asked for and more

I hired Jill in 2012 for a case against a former employer for wrongful termination and employee discrimination. It was immediately apparent that Jill was extremely knowledgeable on these subjects and would be able to assist me on every level. Throughout the entire process, she was very friendly, thor...ough, communicative, and informative, answering any questions or concerns I had and always keeping me updated. Legal proceedings are never enjoyable, but Jill was able to mitigate the stress as much as anyone. It was a pleasure to work with her. During the mediation session, she was very strong and brilliantly helped plead my case. We won in the end, and received compensation even higher than I expected. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for legal counsel. You will be very happy that you did!

Jill Havens employment law expert

Very knowledgeable, confident, and experienced with unemployment law, and appeal/hearing process. Jill turned a complicated and seemingly hopeless case, into a smooth, simple, truthful, and effective case that earned me the unemployment benefits that I was previously unjustly denied. I couldn't have ...found a better attorney.
