Attorney Havens' office was very prompt and responsive to my case. Her office staff is very friendly, helpful, professional, and conscientious. Attorney Havens truly listened to my situation, which was complicated, and explained how to approach my case in a strategic way. She was patient, but straig...htforward. She helped me "think through" how the appeals committee might respond, and how to adjust my responses. I was denied my unemployment claim under the PUA program in June 2021. I received a notice that in addition to being shut off, I also needed to pay back a pretty hefty sum. Needless to say I freaked out and filed a request for an appeal hearing right away. In the meantime I found Jill through an inte...rnet search and contacted her office right away. Both Jill and her assistant were responsive and knowledgeable about the process. I ended up having a phone consultation for an hour to prep for the hearing. Jill reviewed my hearing submission packet and conducted a "mock" hearing so I'd be prepared for the actual hearing the following week. She was honest and upfront about me not being needed to spend additional money on her representation at the actual hearing which I appreciated. Attorney Havens is thoughtful and thorough. I left my job due to a hostile work environment. It was a stressful time for me. I applied for unemployment and was denied because I resigned. I wouldn’t have prevailed on my PUA appeal without Jill. After receiving benefits for months, Mass PUA informed me that I was ineligible, and not only wouldn’t receive further benefits but had to repay those I’d already received.
