Maegan Hurley

Maegan is the most supportive, understanding, proactive, and effective attorney I could have ever hoped to find to assist me with filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. A little over three years ago I contacted the Mass Debt Relief Foundation because I had been diagnosed with a serious illness that made it... impossible for me to work enough to earn the money to pay off debts that began to spin out of control following my completion of graduate school. I was totally overwhelmed and did not know where to begin to look for help. This time when I met with her she simplified the process for me even more, allowing me to feel less overwhelmed. Like many legal endeavors filing for bankruptcy is very convoluted and confusing to those of us who didn't go to law school, and Maegan made it easy for me to understand. She promptly returned every email I sent her and every phone call I made to answer my questions along the way so that I always felt supported and empowered. She did her part in record time, she was so efficient. Additionally she was willing to advise me on legal issues that didn't end up having to do with my bankruptcy filing. She devoted a lot of time helping me to understand complicated processes and she continued to offer help with any additional legal questions I had even after the bankruptcy went through. Some short back ground on me - I had been sitting on a good amount of debt for a while, I played my cards right and was working hard to pay off my debt and after a while when I had a good amount available to me I started a business with a life long friend of mine who ended up blowing everything I inv...ested and bailed 4 months later. So I was basically right where I started again debt wise and I sat on that for about a year and a half or so....so of course interest got the better of me. I did some research online and I found Maegan on Mass. Debt Relief Foundations website, I filled out the forms and she promptly got back to me via phone and email. And to be honest the first time, I blew it off because I was hell bent on " I got myself into this, I'm going to get myself out" I wanted really bad to own up to my mistakes, but I was approaching my 30th birthday and starting to not see an end to even being out of debt and I knew that for me and my wife to move forward in life I needed to hit a restart button somehow. So a few months I talked myself into calling Maegan and I will never forget that day. I almost put it off, I was leaving work and I told myself I would call on my next day off, then I said no I'm going to call today when I get home, and then when I got in my car to go home I said no....you're going to call now and I did. I live with high anxiety and depression ( a lot brought on by my debt ) so I was proud of myself even for just making that call and I am so, so glad I did. I am now about one month discharged from bankruptcy and it has changed my life. Every single thing I worried about during the whole process was never an issue and Maegan was there to answer every phone call and email I had. I was so high strung about the whole process the whole time, I warned her anxiety often got the best of me but was always there to answer my questions which made everything so much easier to get through. I seriously don't know what I would have done if I didn't find Mass. Debt Relief Foundation and Maegan. Now my wife and I can focus on moving forward with our lives instead of looking back at all the mistakes. My only regret is that I did not do my research and find Maegan sooner! It was very scary going into bankruptcy because I knew nothing about what I was about to do, but Maegan explained everything very clearly to me every step of the way. I would like to thank Maegan L. Hurley. Esq. and the Mass. Dept. Relief Foundation inc. very much for all the help and assistance they gave me in going bankrupt. I would not have ever got out of my financial hardship without them. I looked into bankruptcy on the internet, talked to friends and I coul...d never afford it. A friend said to google a pro-bono lawyer and they will help you. That same night I did it sent me to their link, I filled out the forms and a day later Maegan called me back. She walked me through everything I was never left to guess or be confused with all the legal paperwork or appointments. Maegan worked hard and got everything wavered for me. Since the bankruptcy my life has changed the stress the worries and my medical conditions have improved, my nightmare is gone forever. If you need a lawyer she is the best one out there. I wanna start off by saying, prayers do work (Thanking God First). After moving from NYC to Massachusetts as a single mother with 4 kids and a whole lot of debt, I felt like my life was just falling deep under with no where out. I did lots of web searching and almost fell into one of those pay $89 an...d have your debt wiped out in 48hrs scam. I was such in big need of getting rid of my debt that I was willing to do anything to make it disappear, not only was it affecting me mentally but also physically. I owed over 20 Credit cards and a car loan which I was still able to keep after Chapter 7 since thats the only debt I had to keep paying as a priority since its much needed as a single mother with 4 kids. One day I prayed and said "please lord help me find an Attorney who can help me get rid of this debt that's within my budget" (LOW INCOME).The next day I was browsing once again through google and I typed in (FREE BANKRUPTCY CHAPTER 7 IN MASSACHUSETTS) and boom Massachusetts debt foundation inc popped up. I quickly clicked on the link and probably read through their whole website just to make sure it was not another scam, Thanks God! it was not, the next day I was right on the phone with Maegan who is so humble and professional She explained to me the process which was so much easier than giving up $89 to a scam website she went through the whole entire process with me than in about 2 week from that phone call I met up with Richard who is also so humble and professional he had me sign all the legal documents that needed to be sign and in just another month from that day was my court date. The whole process takes about 3 months the max and becomes a life changing. I can actually breath better and sleep better, knowing that there are solutions to our burdens and God blesses people to help others in need.
