I was referred to Attorney Simons by my defense attorney because of Mr. Simons expertise in firearms related cases. As part of my defense against an accusation by the police of negligent operation and failure to stop at a stop sign (which resulted in an accident) my defense attorney wanted to use my ...medical records to posit that the many medications I was on (all of which could play a role in causing an accident) were likely the cause of the accident and I was not guilty of negligence. I was concerned that if my psychiatric medical records were revealed the police might try to go after my firearms license. Mr. Simons returned my call very quickly and assured me the police could not use my diagnoses alone to take my firearms, they would have to show that my posession of a firearm was a danger to society. He took the time with me on the phone, which I did not expect, and layed out all of pros and cons of making my medical records known, weighing his experience as a defense attorney v. his experience in firearms cases. I was relieved when I asked and Attorney Simons reassured me that if it came down to it, he would be willing to defend and represent me. Ultimately me and my other attorney used my medical records in my defense. The whole case was thrown out! And not to mention, Attorney Simons played no small role in my case, yet refused me trying to pay him for the consult, asking only for a review online. Attorney Simons is excellent! In early 2015, I was charged with two felonies and contacted Attorney Simons for a consultation.
