Above and Beyond My Expectations

I moved to Boston for a job in finance. The terms of the contract were quite poor. Maura meticulously walked me through the contract and identified all of the issues. She helped me strategize on the next steps and also helped me think about the big picture. My issue was time sensitive and Maura met w...ith me one day after I contacted her. She understands all of the finer points of Massachusetts's employment law and was able to clearly explain these issues to me. She was sincerely sympathetic to my position and even after our engagement ended, she called me to check in and see how I was doing. I strongly recommend Maura.

Very Satisfied Client

Maura took the time to promptly answer an email I wrote relating to labor law, and even called me to discuss it. She is very knowledgeable and personable. I'd recommend her to anyone needing help with labor/employment issues.

Expert Attorney and Successful Result

Maura skillfully handled my employment related matter and expertly guided me through the winding strategic process. She kept me informed throughout and it felt like a true team effort to bring the matter to resolution. Maura is extremely knowledgeable and I am grateful that she represented me and not... the other party.

Professional, ethical and reliable

Maura reviewed all of my employment contracts including my severance agreement, stock option agreement, and employee agreement upon being terminated from my workplace. She was very thorough and made sure that I understood the implications of signing the severance agreement. Maura was highly available... when I had a question or concern and took the time to cover every detail with me. I would highly recommend Maura for anyone who needs advice, counseling, or representation regarding rights upon termination or in the workplace.

My lawyer was more concerned with being polite to oppose a counsel who is trying to blackmail me then standing up for my rights

I hired Maura Greene Law Group In dire straits after a biased manager successfully orchestrated a cats, paw pattern, manipulation of my employer painting me as an underperformer and resulting in my termination to negotiate a fair severance agreement. When our demand letter was received, opposing coun...sel responded with a nominal offer representing less then 2 percent of our fair ask, and the punctuated their lowball offer with a threat: accept this offer or we will publish your private slack messages where you confided in your managers and team mates about incredibly personal family affairs to humiliate you. My attorney from MGLG did not call this coercion out as retaliation, I had to call it out.My former employer then said There would be no more negotiations and the 2 week offer Of severance that they made would be the one and only. When I asked that we leverage a complaint to the MCAD about The attempted blackmail, my MGLG attorney advised that that was a bad idea with the recommendation and this is an actual quote: "While we certainly want to consider using any leverage we can to push for a better outcome, we also want to avoid taking an approach that could cause them to disengage from negotiations (particularly before we are able to introduce ourselves to the newly assigned attorneys and get an idea of where things might be headed)." This is after opposing council attempted to blackmail me and actually wound up doing so publishing those intimate conversations on the public record. this threat did not seem to be a very big concern to my attorney, however, being polite to them was a very big concern. At no point did I feel like my attorney was on my side. Well she was concerned that they would potentially disengage from negotiations, this was 2 months after my former employer had already stated quite clearly that there would be no negotiations and so there was really nothing for this attorney who was not interested in litigation to negotiate. nonetheless, rather than say hey, we know you have very limited funds to fight a huge employer. you are better served going elsewhere because we're not willing any to advocate strongly on your behalf. they just spent $2,500 in my retainer replying to my email's begging them to do something.Ultimately I ran out of money and had to continue on Pro se. I recommend you carefully read your engagement agreement to make sure that if your attorneys who you hire to negotiate severance are unable to begin negotiations that you are due a refund because I was not. I spent $5,000 to have my attorney for Maura Greene ask me if I wanted to accept the coerced lowball offer that my former employer made me rather than call out retaliation and fight on my behalf. if that sounds like the kind of attorney you want then definitely look these guys up. otherwise I would suggest strongly you try and find someone that gives a sh*t about you.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
