Professional, Responsive, and Highly Effective

Severance Agreement Review & Negotiation

I found myself in an uncharted territory when faced with a difficult separation from a remote employer recently. The emotional aspect (shock and sadness that a solid career had been callously interrupted) was challenging enough, but the legal aspect was simply overwhelming – I was asked to sign a sev...eral-page long severance agreement under a tight timeline. Laden with legal jargons, the document was confusing, and I felt pressured. The Maura Greene Law Group come through favorably via online searches. It’s easy to make an initial appointment online and I spoke with Rob, the firm’s Practice Assistant, on my need to get the agreement reviewed. From there and very soon after, I was engaged in an open conversation with Maura on the specifics. She listened attentively, asked strategic questions that fully gathered the background, and suggested a path forward. I was very grateful for her willingness to take on the case, because it turned out to be not as straight forward as just getting a document reviewed. She believed that the company’s position was flawed and we were in a strong position to negotiate for better terms. I appreciated her steadfast support which truly helped me gain hopes to get through an extremely difficult period. Maura was very upfront about the costs and as the legal support commenced, I was given weekly updates from an accounting perspective at the task and hourly level. The transparency level was most assuring! Along with Maura, the firm’s Attorney Darshana Indira was also working with me. She was my point of contact on the day-to-day matters. Just as it was with Maura, Darshana’s support felt assuring. We partnered up as a team. Every step of the way, Darshana would suggest certain actions forward and asked for my input. She was open to feedback, made herself available for questions, was ever so patient and consistently responsive. I felt part of the process and we respected each other’s views. A setting like this is important to me. Within several weeks, we were able to settle on an agreement which not only protected my interests, but financially represented a much fairer package. It cannot be stressed enough how much Maura and Darshana made an unfortunate turn of events turn into vindication when the company's wrongdoings started coming to light one by one to their executive leadership during this legal process. Before long, our action started to demonstrate its greater value as catalyst for change as the company made a few major updates – which had seemed unavailable previously – to improve its working conditions and HR practices! For anyone looking for legal guidance on employment issues, I’d highly recommend Maura’s team. Even for a legal novice like me, their expertise had made it manageable to go through the process and attain a level of closure that now surpasses my initial hopes. As a grateful client, I believe you too will experience the personalized approach mentioned above with authenticity and transparency.

Great help in a tough situation

Maura provided an initial consult and a follow up consult on an employment case that involved complexity beyond just her legal vertical. She was able to review a critical employment document that with her help I was able to assess properly. This work helped save me money and provide essential job sec...urity during a transitionary period in my company. In addition she updated me on key information regarding Massachusetts employment law that covered multiple contracts and full time jobs I was working and researching. She was also able to refer me to a specialist to handle some of the more complex non employment matters related to my case. Highly recommended.

Best decision I've made
