Frank Doran is an extremely qualified and capable attorney. I had not had any experiences with lawyers prior to having Frank represent me, but his representation left me with no complaints. He is incredibly responsive, answering his phone at all hours and even when on vacation. He will seek out every... available legal avenue to win a case, and does not back down so long as there is a reasonable expectation of winning. He represented me for an OUI where the state had substantial evidence that I had committed the crime. Many lawyers would have recommended a plea bargain at this point, but Frank insisted that there were aways around the breath test. Using previous legal precedents and basic logic he was able to secure a not guilty verdict from the judge. Had I had other representation, my fate would not be the same. I retained Frank’s services for a civil suit around September of 2015. Frank never never told me about the potential liability for criminal charges stemming from the civil law suit prior to me having to ask him and his reply was that the problem i was dealing with would never turn into a criminal inv...estigation. He never informed of my right to assert the 5th amendment, specifically when I asked if I can do that before the deposition in my civil suit. He also never told me that I could elect not to defend the civil case and save the legal fees and stated that I actually should defend myself in the civil case because otherwise I could face owing a large amount of money and have my wages garnished by a conviction in a civil suit. Frank never laid out the path and scope of work as it pertained to my case and i constantly had to ask him about the strategy that he would use to defend me. He never advised me of risks and benefits of each course of action during the civil suit. I assume that his plan all along was to keep getting me into more trouble and having me to continually pay him. I eventually terminated him as my attorney, however significant amount of damage has already been done as well as money wasted on an incompetent and sleazy attorney who only wants to fill his pockets. He also never ended up settling my civil law suit, another attorney had to finish what he started.
