Briteney Mercer helped me through an intensely difficult time in my life. She was tough, knowledgeable, candid and organized. But, she was also compassionate, non-judgmental, and easy to talk to. This was an embarrassing, painful event for me. I made a silly mistake and drove after consuming alcohol. I had never been in any kind of trouble and had no former experience with the law. I’m a hard working person, not an addict or a criminal. I also volunteer in my community for Hospice and for a program working with grieving children. I was embarrassed, frightened and worried about how this would affect my life and my work. Briteney was kind, kept me informed, explained the process, and made it the most comfortable experience possible under the circumstances. She got the best deal from the Prosecutor that we could have hoped for, but was also willing to go to trial if that was what I wanted.

I hesitate in writing about this, but believe it’s important. I kick myself now for it, but when I first saw her, I briefly had a very stupid, stereotypical concern. The concern was of her being too “legally blondish”, because she looks so young and pretty. It’s especially bothersome because I’m a woman around the same age and can’t stand this kind of thinking! But, I’m being honest and it did pop into my mind. If it pops into your mind, let it go! Once I sat down and talked with her, I felt silly for thinking it. And, now that my case is over, I KNOW how completely ridiculous that worry was. Briteney is a powerhouse. She’s connected, informed, and is respected by her colleagues. Believe me, this beautiful woman is sharp, effective, and wise. She treated me with more respect and gave me more information than any of the other lawyers I spoke to, from the jump. There was no question after comparing all the attorneys that I met with, that she would work the hardest, was the most honest, and that she actually cared about me and my situation. She’s out there breaking stereotypes, winning cases, and helping people like me…. And you, if you’re smart.

I was going through a hard time, like most who need a lawyer. I actually found Brit through this search and decided to give her a call. I was able to meet and discuss the case in person quickly. I went to my court hearing just expecting another continuance or to go to trial, and she told me that she had good news. Case Dismissed. Even before speaking to Briteney Mercer, I knew that I had made the right choice. Early Jan. 08 I was charged with DUI. Not being my first and myself not being a lawyer, I thought they were going to re-open Alcatraz just for me---yep, I'm a worrier. After a thorough investigation of the charges, Ms. Mercer assured me that it will all turn out for the best. From the moment that we spoke I was impressed by her knowledge of countless new and old DUI laws. Even more impressive was the knowledge of judicial infractions upon themselves and how those infractions would benefit me. From the beginning I felt as Ms Mercer was really going to bat for me. I feel its the personal things that matter, letting you know that your not alone.
Now that my case is said and done and life has moved on. I look back at the moments of despair, when your wondering if anyone is working "for" you or just "with" you and I realize what a mistake it would have been not to hire Briteney Mercer. Thanks again Brit.

I would recommend Briteney as an attorney without reservation. She was very clear and upfront explaining the judicial process, the options we had and the potential outcomes. Her professionalism in the courtroom was very evident and our situation was expertly handled. She was prompt and thorough in handling all the follow up matters and we never felt "surprised" during the entire process.

No question she is good at what she does. Never having needed a defense attorney in all my 57 years, I was a little unsure of 1) did I even need a lawyer and 2) was Briteney Mercer the one that would serve me best.

Brit was fantastic to work with. She was always reliable, available for me if I had a question and her assistant was very thorough in her absence. She was very organized and had a great candor in the courtroom. A pleasure to work my case and with and I would recommend her in an instant!

I had never experienced anything greater than a speeding ticket when it came to dealing with the law. Just over a year ago I went through the worst experience of my life, I was arrested and charged with a criminal act. I was trying to get out of an abusive and controlling relationship with the mother of my child and get custody. She used the system to falsely accused me of a crime so she could take my parental rights away and maintain control over me. I was kept from my son, in shock and terror-stricken over the thought of being accused, treated and possibly found guilty of such a fallacious crime. I met with 8 different lawyers in person and phone interviewed with another 7 before I found and met with Briteney. None of them came close to the level honor, integrity and compassion Briteney showed me. For the first time since the nightmare started I felt a sense of hope and ease. Briteney charges a very reasonable flat fee and as many wonder like I did with a flat fee at first, "will I only get that amount worth of work?" The answer is no. Briteney, her staff and even the head of the firm (Brad) all assisted and worked together on my case. They worked numerous hours from beginning to end, even going as far as to come to my house. They took great care of me and made me feel like I was more than just a client, I was someone they genuinely cared about. I hope you never have to go through something like this, but if you do, meet with Briteney. She is very sharp and hard working. I can not say enough great things about her. I know I will never forget how she helped me through the worst period of my life and will be forever grateful for that.
