James Scott Gilbreath

also known as Jake Gilbreath

Practice areas:

Family, Child Custody, Divorce & Separation

About Me

I focus my practice exclusively on family law matters.  I have represented clients in divorces with assets ranging from the hundreds of dollars to the hundreds of millions of dollars.  I have handled complex and contentious custody cases both outside and inside a courtroom.  I have litigated constitutional issues regarding same sex marriage, adoption and child custody.  Finally, I have developed an involved international aspect to my practice and have represented clients who originate from India, China, Japan, South Korea, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, and various Latin America countries.

I have been described by leading trial attorneys as “clearly a comfortable trial lawyer…anyone can learn by watching how you did it” and as “one of the brightest young legal talents in Travis and surrounding counties.”

Whether it’s as your first attorney, as a replacement for your current attorney, or as co-counsel to give your lawyer the help he or she needs, I am always enthusiastic and ready to serve my clients in whatever way I can.
