About Me

Brian King is the owner and managing attorney of King Law Offices PLLC. He has been practicing law for more fifteen years, and is a lifelong resident of Rutherford County. Brian is a member of the North and South Carolina bars, and maintains active cases in both states. Brian is a graduate of Campbell Law School and completed his undergraduate degree at University of North Carolina - Charlotte. Brian has extensive trial litigation in several areas, and is a licensed North Carolina Family Law Specialist. Brian has previously served as the attorney for the Rutherford County Department of Social Services and has served as the interim attorney for the McDowell County Department of Social Services. He is a former member of the executive board of the North Carolina Child Support Council. He has served as District Bar President for District 29A. He has several reported cases in the North Carolina Court of Appeals, including one featured in the book, "Critical Family Law Cases" published by the the North Carolina Bar Association. He is a member of this association, and an annual participant in their annual Family Section meetings. He is a frequent speaker in Legal Education classes, and local area chamber of commerce meetings. Brian enjoys every minute of life as a doting father; as a parent, his role as a Family Lawyer has taken on new and special meaning. In addition to maintaining a busy private practice, he serves on several local boards, fighting abuse and neglect in the community. Brian spent several years as adjunct faculty at Isothermal Community College, teaching Business Law.

Brian is a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law and has been representing clients in contested domestic matters for many years. Brian is an excellent negotiator, and many of his cases settle because he is able to work out an agreement that is beneficial to both parties. Brian is able to represent the interests of his clients effectively while being professional and courteous to opposing counsel and to the Court. Brian served as counsel to the Department of Social Services for several years and I believe this gives him insight into the workings of that agency that benefits his clients. DSS is frequently involved in domestic cases, particularly child custody matters, and Brian is able to navigate these very effectively due to his knowledge and experience in dealing with DSS. Brian King is an excellent lawyer and I have referred numerous cases to him in the past because I know that he will do his very best. I endorse this lawyer.
