Tami Elizabeth Ratliff

I saw this Lady for a case. She booked 2 people same day and same time . We both walked in same time. She hurried me through, then told me she will charge 10k but will collect 4k as down-payment. I gave her my credit card, she charged 5k instead and did not give me a receipt. I immediately check...ed my card at home and discovered she took 5k. This makes me think twice and partly culminated in my telling her I do not want to proceed and wants my money back 3 days later. I opted to have her withdraw the case as part of the 2 options she gave. She did not mentioned anything about my refund. I contacted her again, and then again. She then told me my down-payment is nonrefundable. I asked for at least given me the extra 1k she took from my card, she said I don't remember saying 4k,...let me check...but did not get back to me. I contacted her again but she always try to divert conversation. She said I can only use the down-payment towards the case if I decide to proceed in the future. I asked for any signed document confirming such agreement since she never told me that payment is non -refundable. She is not sending me any document and our online conversation had miraculously disappeared. I can not even retrieve initial fillings and communications. I have contacted other attorneys and have been advised this is utterly wrong and unethical and I need to file complaint against her with the State. My 5k had gone after spending less than 30min with her. She has deep eye for your money .. be aware, you are warned.

I currently serve in the military and found myself in a situation where I needed premier, honest, best priced and someone with exceptional morals and integrity, and knew the law with their eyes closed. Ms. Ratliff happened to be foolproof. Many military friends in the surrounding Abilene, Tx area use... her and now I definitely see why. I can’t go into detail about my case for confidentially reasons, but Ratliff is pure, very well trained with Texas, family law and clients. I was provided emotional support during a sorrowful and heartbreaking time. Ratliff’s fees were more than generous. Oh, and not let me forget I could reach her via text via email just about any time and it was beneficial for my work schedule in which she accommodated many different times seeing how buried in work she was herself with several other clients it always reassured me of everything that was going on That it was going to be OK and it was and did resolve WE WON, VICTORY AT LAST THIS PAST WEEK. I am forever thankful my life has changed forever now. Thank you for what you do and the lives you change including my drastically. God sent me to you, God bless what you do. This work was your calling and meant for you, I can’t imagine the lives you change daily. You are a true testimony. Thank you, again and again amen. You uphold way more way more than the internet says about you. You freaking rock!

It saddens me to see people, who work hard for what they have and fall upon hard times, as we all experience. What more saddening, is the exploitation of these people, DURING their difficult time, by attorney's who've been hired to protect our rights as American citizens, under constitional law. Atto...rney's are paid for what they consider a "job," just as if they were going to Firestone to manufacture tires every day. Instead, we as citizens, are coerced into "buying into" whatever deal we're presented with and most times, in an effort to uphold the personal agenda of our legal counsel, who is concerned with pushing this client out the door to open a seat for the next lucky lucky exploited. While in the process of hiring an attorney, I read reviews because word of mouth is the best advertisement tool we have; it is also the worst advertisement tool for those with less than ethical intentions. Based on the reviews I've read and the personal testimonies of people I've spoken with, it sounds as if the judicial system may need to reconsider their decision to allow this type of conduct to remain in legal practice. Sifting through the madness to find a quality attorney is utterly exhausting.

Tami Ratliff is by far the most incredible family law attorney In Abilene, TX and the surrounding areas!!! She is very interpersonal, on task and knows all the laws. Tami has amazing rates. I have worked with Ms. Ratliff for years. She has handled my divorce and custody of my four children quickly, w...on my cases, super professional and always responded promptly. We never lost contact. She kept me updated and worked very well with my now ex-husbands attorney as well. The most honest person I’ve ever met. I know if I want the truth who to go to. I feel safe in her hands. I know my paper work will not get pushed away or set aside when it comes to her. Shes absolutely on point with everything and worth way more than she asks for. She sincerely cares about her clients and their situations and will work all hours to reassure they are taken care of. I can honestly say I trust Tami with mine and my families life. I would hire this wonderful attorney OVER AND OVER again. I never had to worry about a thing. I referred several clients to her and they all tell me the same thing. She’s the worlds BEST, you won’t regret it.

Tami was hired for my divorce case. I terminated her 3 months into it. PROS: She was responsive. I had no issues getting in touch with her either by text or email. CONS: With my particular case, I feel she had an agenda from the beginning which wasn't revealed until after I fired her. That agenda... was to settled the case, even though it wasn't in the best interest of my child. She filed incorrect information in initial documents, didn't inform me of a cancellation of court date. She waited until the last minute to prepare for court, coerced me to agree to an agreement that she concocted with the opposing attorney and I had no knowledge of it until right before court. Unbeknownst to me, I had other options, but listening to her ended up costing me $35000 to undo her poor decisions. She gathered evidence and never used any of it. I consistently felt dismissed. She didn't listen to my request and it was as if she was grasping at straws with what to do. She padded her billing when I fired her to max out the retainer so she wouldn't have to give me any money back, despite clear errors like charging hourly rates higher than her contract stated. She has been disciplined before for being dishonest, failing to complete legal work and keeping money that doesn't belong to her. She's a small town attorney that works in a system where the law (or knowledge of it) is not a factor so it's easy to appear as if she's doing something noteworthy. May she never keep a single penny that she has dishonestly gained by cheating others.
