An Attorney Who Litigates With Precision, Not Chaos

I have worked with Stephanie for several years in a highly complex, high-conflict custody case, and I can say without hesitation that she is one of the most knowledgeable, strategic, and ethical attorneys I have encountered. Stephanie is extremely well-versed in family law and litigation strategy.... She thinks quickly on her feet, understands courtroom dynamics, and knows how to navigate difficult and emotionally charged situations without creating unnecessary conflict, delay, or expense. She is a strong litigator who is prepared, intelligent, and not intimidated by difficult cases or challenging legal issues. One thing people need to understand about litigation is that the court system is slow, complicated, and often far less straightforward than people expect. Emotions run high, and clients naturally want constant updates, calls, and immediate action. What I appreciate about Stephanie is that she understands the balance between advocating aggressively when it matters and not wasting her client’s time or money on things that do not materially help the case. If she tells you something is important, it is important. If she tells you something is not worth pursuing, there is usually a very good strategic reason. If you do not hear from her constantly, it often means she is respecting your finances and avoiding unnecessary billing rather than creating noise for the sake of appearances. She communicates clearly, keeps things focused, and understands the importance of maintaining records and documentation in litigation. She is empathetic about how stressful and financially draining these cases can be, while still remaining practical, honest, and grounded in the law. Most importantly, Stephanie is ethical, fair, and courageous. She is not afraid to advocate for her clients in difficult or “murky” situations, and she is willing to make strong legal arguments when necessary while still maintaining professionalism and credibility with the court. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone dealing with complex family law litigation, especially high-conflict custody matters.

Stephanie understands preserving the record for Appeal

I hired Stephanie during an extremely complex family law matter that eventually involved appellate work, and one of the things that separates her from many attorneys is that she does not just litigate for the moment she litigates with the record in mind. A lot of attorneys can argue in court. Far ...fewer understand how important it is to preserve issues, build a clean record, and think several steps ahead in the event an appeal becomes necessary. Stephanie understands that process exceptionally well. In our case, she successfully appealed a decision, and it became very clear throughout the process how well-versed she is in appellate procedure, legal strategy, and courtroom preservation. She knows what needs to be said, what needs to be documented, what matters for the record, and what does not. That level of foresight is invaluable in litigation. She is incredibly sharp, detail-oriented, and prepared. She knows her cases personally and thoroughly, not just the broad overview, but the facts, procedural history, and legal posture of the case. You are not being passed around to people who vaguely know your file. When Stephanie walks into court, she knows the case. What also stood out to me was her ability to remain composed and strategic under pressure. Family law litigation can become emotional and chaotic very quickly, especially in high-conflict situations. Stephanie stays focused on the legal issues, the long-term strategy, and the outcome. She is honest, direct, ethical, and highly intelligent. If she tells you something matters, listen carefully. If she tells you not to waste energy or money on something, there is a reason. She understands both trial litigation and appellate realities better than most attorneys I have encountered. I would strongly recommend her to anyone dealing with complex litigation, contested custody matters, or appeals.

Poor Communication and Lack of Transparency

I worked with Stephanie Holan on my family law case. While the case ultimately reached a final order, communication throughout the process was difficult. I often had to follow up multiple times to receive updates about my case, including information about the status of the final order after the heari...ng. I recently learned that the final order had been submitted without prior communication to me, which was surprising given that it involved important decisions about my child. As a client, timely communication and transparency are very important in family law matters. I appreciate the work that was done on the case, but I would have preferred clearer communication and updates during the process.

Negligent and Unreachable

I am extremely dissatisfied with Stephanie Holan’s representation, as she failed to prioritize my case after being hired. Her negligence resulted in significant losses, and now my child is placed in a perilous situation every other weekend. Had she been transparent with me, I could have secured a mor...e dedicated attorney. During her three week tenure, Stephanie Holan failed to take any action regarding my case. Despite frequent calls to her office, I was unable to reach her. I do not recommend Stephanie Holan. She will make many empty promises and she will not deliver on any of them.
