I was arrested for a non violent civil disobedience action when the city of Fort Lauderdale decided to ban feeding homeless people in public where they live. During the course of my arrest my cash was taken by the jailers and I was given a debit card with transaction fees attached. This turns out to ...be a violation of my civil rights. Sabarish Neelankanta and the team from the Human Rights Defense Center in Lake Worth Florida challenged this and won. I recieved a cash settlement in compensation for this injustice. I couldn't be happier with my lawyers in this case. They worked hard and long to right this injustice and the case was settled to my great satisfaction. These attorneys aren't just great lawyers, they are great people working for the rights of individuals and against the exploitation of those who happen to find themselves in such a situation. I feel very fortunate that we hired Sabarish Neelakanta for my son's defense in a very serious criminal case.
